wow!

Fantastic restaurant for meat lovers! Best meal I've ever eaten. The food and wine were superb and great recommendations from the staff. A true Parisian experience!

We have been invited by our friend otherwise we also would complaint the high prices for an average food (list). We ordered steak rare (bleu) and got rare but with an ice-cold core of the steak. The meat was very tenacious - so "rare" definitely was not the right decision. The "ambiente" is poor. The usual small tables are acceptable... More

I live just round the corner. We ate there maybe more than four times.Even though we had a quite bad experience last time, because they are closeby we decided to give them another chance. Well it was a stupid decision ! Never again ! Freezing cold , I had sit with my heavy coat on through the dinner . The meat... More

Immediately on entering one can feel the pleasant atmosphere in this restaurant. High ceilings and decor that is simple but of quality. Excellently soundproofed so a view of the Seine and the Eifel tower but no noise. i had the foie gras maison and the Black Angus bavette, which was fabulous, tender and full of flavour. The owner recommended an... More

L'Ogre is a restaurant that I visit every single time I travel to Paris! This is basically a meat lover place. Their Cote de Boeuf is divine and their Cochon au lait is one of the best I had. And the atmosphere is charming and casual!

l'OGRE is at the junction of Av Verseilles and Av Pres Kennedy. Rather dimly lit and the daily menu is chalked up on a blackboard. When we went the choices were either different ways to serve beef, or shrimps. The wine list is 5 pages long! our waitress spoke excellent English but was amused by Brits eating steak that wasnt... not bad but definitely not outstanding. The best cuts are quite pricy (prepare to spend around 60 euro each).

Delicious steak, best french fries in Paris, super spicy mustard.... It claims it is wine restaurant, but the wine was average. There is one beer "choice". The waitress made us (Brazilians, americans) feel unwelcome and stupid. We wanted time to discuss our order and she was pushy and rude. The restaurant was quiet and she assure us that she didn't... Great Brazilian steak. Wait staff spoke limited English but did excellent job of explaining all French menu written on black board.

I spend 6 months a year working in Paris so I know restaurants much better than the tourists that added stellar reviews of this place. The place is average, the ambience is average, is food is average, and you have to be blonde, female and pretty to get any sort of warm reception at this place. Every time ( and... More

Neighborhood Profile
Trocadero
This is the neighborhood of grand and impressive Haussmann-designed apartments and buildings. National museums overlook the Eiffel Tower and embassies fill the avenues and streets. Locals head to the butcher, florist, or bakery on their daily rounds amidst luxury and splendor, all with a view over Paris and its most famous tower. Snuggled in between the grand buildings are small art galleries and homes of historical significance. With a rich legacy from 19th century politics, art, and architecture, you can’t help but be reminded of the belle époque, the Universal Exhibitions and the nobility that have frequented and shaped these streets.
