This was on our 'to visit' list, both having been featured as a location in 'Inglourious Basterds' and after reading some reviews. It was too hard to find (5 stops and a little walk from Gare du Nord, where we were staying) but felt out of the way, far from the popular tourist destinations. Service was very quick and friendly,... More

My whole party delighted in the exceptional French food and wine in this Parisian bistro, which seems untouched by the diluting effect of tourism. The service, even after ten o'clock, was excellent and finished with the complimentary round of Armagnac, described accurately as 'un bon dessert'.

After reading about this restaurant and it's charme (and the fact that Inglorious Basterds was shot here), we decided to check it out. The food was great and reasoably priced, the location (north of Montmartre) was great and away from all the tourists and the place itself was cool - feels like it came right out of the 20s. The... This is place is gorgeous. Original, unrestored, Belle Epoque era bistro, with worn marble bar, ancient mirrors, old lighting. Good food at reasonable prices. Have the lamb with green curry sauce and red rice if it's on the menu when you go. (and they have a menu in English too.), very friendly staff and absolutely fabulous atmosphere. We liked it... Superb service and a really local vibe made this restaurant very special for us. There wasnt a tourist in sight and everyone was under 40 yet it was a real restaurant not a hangout for kids. We had an entree and 2 mains to share with a couple of glasses of wine and at €55 we were hsppy with the... More

We stayed in a flat just across the bistro and started our day with a nice cup of coffee in the bistro. Very friendly and nice staff, great coffee and not expensive. Lovely quiet place. Loved it there.

Great beef and awesome parmesan salads. The prices fall in line with Paris prices but the food is way better than average. Friendly and lively staff. Sits on a busy intersection so is a great place to people watch.

We went here purposely when we were in Paris because a scene from the Quentin Tarantino film "Inglourious Basterds" was shot here. I don't think many people know that, or maybe they don't care...haha. However, my husband and I are huge film nerds and figured since we were already in the area we might as well go and see it.... In our quest to experience the historic bistros of Paris, we traveled to Montmartre and found La Renaissance. For us this proved to be a perfect destination: authentic in period detail (stained glass, frosted glass, dark woods, menu on a blackboard) with a waitress tres’ joli and great food: Turenne, again oeuf cocotte, lapin, pave du saumon, Compari, wine, and...
