What a genuine awful experience. Stopped unplanned after having a nice walk around the area. We ordered a burger each as wanted something relatively quick and filling. Both burgers were ordered medium. Burgers arrived and were both uncooked and would be classed as raw. We sent the burgers back and complained they were undercooked. The burgers came back 5 minutes... We were just asking where is the restroom but the waiter gave us an attitude, talked back behind us in French. Very rude. This restaurant is not recommended.

Most of the food in this restaurant is marked as made from fresh ingredients in house. I had the quiche and it was bar none the best I'd ever had. Also the restaurant was very clean and well appointed yet not expensive. The chairs were comfortable which not all Paris cafés are. The waiter was somewhat arrogant but I think... More

Great bar close to Notre Dame. Good atmosphere whilst watching the England v France Rugby. Would go back if visiting again.

After visiting Notre Dame, I wanted a typical Parisian cafe meal. What a great find this was! The staff were welcoming and helpful though I do not speak French. I ordered escargot, croque madame, kir royal. Each were the best I have ever eaten. I will definitely return!

Quiche Lorraine is absolutely perfect. Light and fluffy with an easy salad! The crepe special had an eye on top and was divine. For those looking for American food the cheeseburger was high quality and cooked perfectly. French fries were not too skinny and not to fat ..: to quote my 16 year old 'they are perfect'. Overall a great... More

A surprisingly traditional and cosy cafe in the Notre Dame area. Captures the relaxing essence of Paris...we went in for coffee and Pains aux Chocolates and loved the waiter too...better than other cafes nearby as the ambience is classic Paris...

Le Parvis has a nice comfortable 'brasserie' atmosphere and with friendly and efficient service; but I was disappointed with my lamb cutlets. Compared with other cotes d'agneau I have had over the years in this arrondisement, I found Le Parvis's a bit too fatty and not enough actual meat on each cutlet. However, my wife's mushroom omelet was very good.... More

I have read a few other reviews and I also picked this restaurant on this street because it was not as busy and full of tourist like many of the others on it. The menu is varied and the staff was friendly. When you are in Paris near famous sites, at times it is hard to find a inviting restaurant... More

Staying in Ile de la Cite / Ile Saint-Louis

Neighborhood Profile
Ile de la Cite / Ile Saint-Louis
Two islands sit in the middle of the Seine at the very heart of Paris. The more majestic one, Ile de la Cité, sparkles with history. This is the birthplace of Paris, the home of the Gothic Sainte-Chapelle, and the site of the prison where Marie Antoinette was held before her execution. Tourists flock to see the iconic Notre Dame and the beautiful bridges that straddle the Seine. Ile Saint-Louis, the more provincial island, welcomes you with cozy traditional eateries, small boutiques, and what some people say is the best ice cream in the city. This is essential Paris from its very beginnings to its modern appeal.
