Superb wines and quality dishes

This is wine bar that does food so if you're not a wine drinker then you'll probably do better elsewhere. That said, on the food front the accent is on quality tasty ingredients simply prepared (charcuterie, cheeses in their prime, salads, tartines, bread) and for the money you'll do better than most restaurants and bistros. Went here in July ,at the time the food was of a southern french slant very unpretentious and satisfying the wine choice was very extensive but we were served by a really friendly guy who was happy to recommend a fantastic red from the langue doc region which complimented the food perfectly.

I beg to differ with negative reviews about this place. Yes, French waiters don't understand the concept of the customer is always right, but that's because their salary doesn't come FROM the patrons (tips) but from the owner of the establishment (which is often just happy to see waiters show up for work on time, since French labor laws allow... Well, I don't know about the food, but the behind-the-desk service is presumptuous in a I-know-it-all-and-you-don't style which is certainly not pleasant. I went in to buy two bottles of champagne and once inside I had one glass of red and can tell you that that specific red served by glass is only good if you want a serious headache.... More

Simple but great food with a fantastic wine selection, and at prices that are a bargain by any standards in Paris. Hinting at southern french cuisine, with plates of sliced meats and cheeses, all great, and staff who are happy to help you work through a selection of the right wines (and who are also happy to speak English as... We tried this little place as it was across the road from another (sister) restaurant called L'Ebeauchoir which was fantastic. Staff swap between the two and are wonderfully helpful and friendly. Quality of food and wines could not be faulted, in fact were superb. Great value for money, we have chalked it in for our next stay!

This restaurant isn't very big so try to book, or make sure you pop in outside of key eatting times. However the size helps to add to the local feel of the restaurant. We originally popped in to try some of the amazing local wines that the provide by the glass at very reasonable prices, but then we saw the... More
