Nice Moroccan restaurant in the center of Paris

We went there just after new year's day, and were very well received by a friendly staff. We had appetizers,3 Tagines and 1 Couscous, an excellent Boulaouane red wine from Morocco, desserts, coffee. The tagines and the couscous were very good and there was quite enough to eat. We paid 150€ tax... read more

We were staying nearby and noticed how popular it seemed so we got in early the next night. The cuisine is Moroccan / Mediterranean. We had different tangines - both very tasty and some interesting desserts. Service was friendly. We will return next time in Paris.

This is a very nice Moroccan restaurant that serves good and substantial amount of food for even the most hungry ones. It is a change from the usual French cuisine and is a great environment to host friends and family.

Had a great night at the Le Mechoui in Paris. It has a real Moroccan feel with colourful cushions and rich furnishings. The food was very good and the service was excellent, friendly staff who knew how to explain the many courses on the menu. The place has a good ambience and it wasn't expensive.

Delicious, and excellent service. I note another reviewer dinged them for the bland seasonings, and wonder if he/she neglected to use the wonderful harissa (hot red pepper based condiment which could be mistaken for ketchup, far from it). The broths are intended to be complex and understated, and the diner adds the harissa to taste. Delightful!

I went there with a friend on a Sunday at 10 pm and they were still serving us food without grumbling. We had Couscous and a Targine and it was very tasty! I liked the service and the ambiance as well! I would go there again, even if it was a little hard to find without GPS. Definitely recommendable!

We were lucky to get in for it was rather crowded. I am glad we did as the food was delicious and reasonably priced. A wide variety of Moroccan dishes was available and each member of our party of four had something different. Service was prompt but we did not get the feeling of being rushed. If we return to... This Left Bank Moroccan restaurant, a couple of hundred yards off the Boulevard St Germain, was recommended to us by my girlfriend's brother, and Alain's a reliable guy. As he proved again in this case. The service couldn't be more charming - you feel welcome the moment you walk in - the atmosphere is warm and friendly, and the food... More

We were staying at the Hotel St Paul Rive Gauche across the street, as it was raining we opted for Le Mechoui as it was convenient. We did not have a booking and found that there were about 6 other tables taken on arrival. We were greeted and seated quickly by a very efficient young lady who spoke both French... More

Neighborhood Profile
Odeon / Saint-Michel
As the bustling center of entertainment for the residents of the Rive Gauche, the activity at Odéon never stops. Boulevards are lined with traditional cafes, restaurants, and boutique cinemas. The streets surrounding the fountain at Saint-Michel provide eateries from around the world. Lively bars are just next door and the prototypical terraced French brasserie is on every corner. The setting for this area is second to none; the Haussmann-style boulevards are contrasted by monumental architecture and overshadowed by the iconic Notre Dame, all within a moment’s walk from the Seine. This neighborhood's world-famous bookshops, cafés, and streets will not fail to impress you.
