Great neighborhood destination

Small, kind of nondescript space but we're here for the food, not the sights. And we're here for some very good reasons. We started with the gambas wrapped in angel hair and the terrine de foie de volaille (chicken liver to us), both wonderful. Then on to duck two ways and cod - equally... read more

I had the two course set dinner menu and it was very nice. The duck was perfectly cooked, I could have done with more vegetables. The bourbon creme brulee was nothing to write home about, I was hoping that the pistachio one would still be on the menu but sadly it wasn't. The shot of dessert wine paired nicely with... More

This is a tiny restaurants as it only seats about 20-24. The food was excellent and the service was good as well. Highly recommended.

The place is so small, the chef checked us in with a paper reservation book. One server for the venue, and he was gracious and wonderful, as was all the staff, despite being so busy. In fact, the staff was unflappable. We asked the server to pair wines for our courses, and he did a fab job. I had the... More

Believe all the great reviews! We've enjoyed L'Ange 20 perhaps 15 times over the years and never been less than delighted with the food & service. Perhaps the best high end value in Paris, even with the tight tables & minuscule space. Go for the gizzard salad, really! We're told they're moving to a new location in September, close to... More

You would be fooled by the look of the restaurant. It is very small and only has 20 seats. You have to book in advance to get a table. The food is the best we have in Paris. I ordered goat cheese and duck. Both were very good. My wife ordered king prawn and fish. They were nicely done. We... More

This was a really fun Paris experience. A small, informal restaurant where you see the food being cooked, and yet absolutely delicious fine dining cuisine. Our waiter/maitre d was fun, informative. He steered us toward solid champagne and wine selections and some menu items (like sautéed chicken gizzards) that were surprising favorites even though we wouldn't have picked them ourselves.... We reserved ahead of time by email through the US. It was the pride parade and it took us longer than expected with closed roads, they proudly held our table and were happy we got to experience the parade. The restaurant is down a side street, seats around 10 tables, Parisian style with the tables close together, and the kitchen... More

I speak French fluently and while we had made a reservation for 8:30 p,m.for dinner with the chef, when we arrived, we were told by the waiter that our reservation was not until 9:30 (PLEASE!). I suspect that this related to the telephone number that we left (for my cell phone) being North American and perhaps, we were bumped by... More

Staying in Le Marais

Neighborhood Profile
Le Marais
The Marais is a winding maze of multi-faceted streets that beg to be explored. It bursts with small boutiques, historic buildings, cozy traditional restaurants, and hidden parks. Around each corner, you'll come across little gems of architecture spanning the centuries, from understated medieval towers to classical libraries and 17th century splendor. This neighborhood unites a rich mix of people of all ages, but it's best known for the gay scene mostly in the south and the Jewish community around Rue des Rosiers.
