My meat place in Paris

Each time I go to Paris I try to go to this place. Really tasty dishes, I strongly recommend this place. The local is not really big, so I suggest you make a previous reservation. They do really nice "empanadas de carne". Actually not all the meats are coming from Argentina, but also from USA. I... read more

the restaurant is highly reviewed though why I have no idea. We booked last minute on a Saturday which I suppose in itself should have been a warning. The service was close to non existent, we where seated by the waiters station and beside the grill which was ok but very close to other diners with little space between tables.... More

Reviews of this place sometimes focus on their slow service, which for us was expected. After all, only 3 guys run the place and have to take orders, mind tables, cook and serve. We enjoyed our evening of great steaks, terrific empanadas and good Malbec pairing. Book in advance as it is a small place.

By far the best steak we've ever eaten. The restaurant was packed our waiter was also the chef! My husband had the ribeye I had the 3 different types of steak (the first option on the menu ) they serve meat from Argentina, Chile, Spain. We also had the beef and chicken empanadas (yummy). It's a must visit if you... More

Good meat, excelent starters. The malbec was to die for. Service is too relaxed, although friendly. Not the best not the worst argentine restaurant. If back in Paris we would consider it. Neighbourhood is also great for some after dinner walk!

The meat is good in this place, but not extraordinary. The service though is terrible. After 1h45mins and 3 courses, the waiter gave us the bill without us asking for it. Then he started "suggesting" we should go soon because other people are waiting. Then after a few minutes another person came again to suggest we need to leave.. Unacceptable... More

Situated just off the Place de la Bastille, I was bit surprised when a Parisian friend suggested we eat in an Argentinian restaurant but have been converted. The setting, especially down stairs in the vault area, was beautifully rustic. A good sign was that the majority of diners were local Parisiens. The meat was mouth watering and was cooked to... My wife and I both said this was one of the best meals we had ever eaten. We had the assiette which I would go for again but just having the filet would be no hardship!

You come to Santa Carne for one reason: beef from Argentina. And in that respect the restaurant lives up to its name. Tender and tasty grilled beaf is what you'll get. Eat it rare because that's how the beef will deliver all of its flavors. Try the chicken and beef homemade empenadas, they are delicious as a starter with the... More

My mouth is watering just thinking about Santa Carne, I would move to Paris for this restaurant alone, the steak, the wine, those sauces - just beautiful! Plenty of locals eating there. Highly recommend!

Staying in Le Marais

Neighborhood Profile
Le Marais
The Marais is a winding maze of multi-faceted streets that beg to be explored. It bursts with small boutiques, historic buildings, cozy traditional restaurants, and hidden parks. Around each corner, you'll come across little gems of architecture spanning the centuries, from understated medieval towers to classical libraries and 17th century splendor. This neighborhood unites a rich mix of people of all ages, but it's best known for the gay scene mostly in the south and the Jewish community around Rue des Rosiers.
