Simple French fare that delivers

With many similar looking establishments nearby we opted for this because of the Raclette advertised. We ended up not having it but enjoyed the food...my husband's confit duck was terrific, fell apart wonderfully and with rich, complex flavours...my vegetable tart tartin was elegantly stacked and... read more

Alone in the restaurant we could clearly hear how dishes were warmed up/cooked using a microwave. Plus there was a hair in a dish. Disgusting. Evidently we didn't finish the meal though we paid as if we had ! A place to avoid ! Des plats surchauffé ou cuisiné au microondes ! Un poil sur un assiette nous a empêché... More

My wife and I come here every time we go to Paris. They have the best fondue in Paris in my opinion. They are professional and friendly also. I have no idea why they get so many bad reviews. Must be hard to please Americans always in a rush and don't know the slow paced easy going French way. It's... More

Service was good to get you in and seated but then downhill. Food very average and unexceptional. Had mid range deal - entree, main and desert but dessert never came despite repeated requests - waited over half an hour still no dessert so after 45 mins just paid and left. Also tried to charge us for water out of a... More

Tucked into an alley with a bunch of other restaurants, my wife was drawn to this place because of the advertised raclettes. As this was time for lunch, we decided to go with the lunch special. Very good value. Owner was very nice and accommodating. Food was very good. My 11 year old fell in love with onion soup here... More

I never thought I would eat Raclette in Paris, but on rue Mouffetard they seem to be "a thing". The owners were friendly, spoke English with us, and their service was fast and accurate. We had Raclette "nature" and cheese fondue with bread and apple. Both amazing - the cheese was delicious and the portions abundant - a true feast!... More

This place is simply awful. Dirty glasses, tasteless food. The waitress just pulls your card out of the machine, doesn't even say a thank you and immediately clears your table and drags in more tourists from the street. No words to describe the toilets, very dirty with no toilet paper, nothing. I wish we had never gone there. As someone... More

This is the worst restaurant I have ever been to in terms of food, service and hygiene. In retrospect we should have walked out when we were met by the overwhelming stench of drains when we walked in but we were tired after a lot of walking around Paris. We had limited time so decided to have a starter, bottle... More

The place where it is situated is very nice, and it was by chance that I got to discover the restaurant. The service is fast, the waiters very nice and courteous. There is a large variety of dishes (the fondues and meat specialities are a classic but the salads are original and refreshing) and desserts delicious. In all the atmosphere is... More

Staying in Quartier Latin

Neighborhood Profile
Quartier Latin
The Latin Quarter bursts with intellectual life, architectural splendor and ongoing merriment. The small streets are filled with classical buildings, student bars and lively eateries while the squares are dominated by historic monuments. The area is defined by the 800-year-old Sorbonne University, where Latin once prevailed, and is famous for the Pantheon which celebrates the great men and women of France. During the day students rush from classes to the library and intellectuals people watch from the terraced cafés. As night time falls the surrounding establishments fill up and the merriment really begins. The liveliest parts are around Rue Mouffetard, lined with crêperies and international street food eateries, and Place de la Contrescarpe characterised by terraced brasseries, this neighborhood provides real nourishment for the mind, belly, and soul.
