Nothing pretentious, but very popular. The food is fine and the seating space good. Service good too. If you are in the area give it a whirl.

Efficient, friendly waitstaff. Delicious chicken with mushrooms, beef and pork dishes, with tasty sides. Comfortable seating. We watched in awe as they prepared seating and served meals for a large tour group w/o a reservation and had them in and out of the restaurant within 30 minutes! All done with great aplomb!

I reserved this restaurant thru an internet site and did not realized that I had a 50% discount on the dishes "a la carte". I would not be able to say if the size of the dishes was representative of the price I paid or not because no way to compare. In any case, I asked an Americano and a... More

We have been to this restaurant quite a few times over the past two years and on this occasion, the staff were different, but the food was just as good if not better than before. The prices were as we expected from our previous visits and the staff were attentive and helpful even with our poor knowledge of the language... More

Had a Monday lunch at this restaurant, the environment is nice but the food, le plat du jour, entree+main+dessert, was just simple and normal. I had the entree, a salmon feuilletine but this was very oily. The main, pork filet mignon with a pepper sauce, was normal. The dessert, was a creme caramel also , normal.

I have been to this place twice, both times with a discount. I would say that this place is has really good food but it's expensive if you don't have a discount. From the first time last year February 2013 to this year January 2014 I noticed many differences: - The place got more popular and there are definitely a... More

We were staying around the corner and had tried to get into this restaurant earlier in our trip but they were always full, apparently of locals, so we made reservations for our last night. The room is beautiful and the young staff, eager to please, even with our rudimentary French and their even more rudimentary English. Our table for 4... More

My wife and I spent four days in the Gare De Lyon area. We ate in a nunbe of places but this was the best of all. we had planned to visit a number of restaurants rated by trip advisor but none of them were either open or to our liking. The Cafe Barjot was also open on our last... More

The atmosphere here is really good. A bit romantic yet quaint in its way by being very homey feeling. We aye at this restaurant because it was full of people. So we didn't mind to wait for seats. True to it the food especially the french beef stew was beuatiful. Very flavourful and cook to the right tenderness. To top... More

We were overnight in Paris en route to Rome from Gare de Lyon, it was a very wet night and wanted a place away from the main tourist area, so we went round the back of the Timhotel on to Ledru Rollin only five minutes walk from Gare de Lyon, and found Café Barjot. As it was absolutely teeming with... More
