I was sceptical about eating in a "Japanese" restaurant in Paris but this was brilliant, French influences, attention to detail and beautiful presentation all from an alleyway restaurant, the kitchen that they produce all this fantastic food out of is the size of a shoebox, very impressive, the service is attentive without being overwhelming. 9 course tasting menu. Looking forward... More

Recommend to ask for the dowstairs seating. Very good experience, subtle flavors, very well balanced. Good service, relaxed dinning.

I am posting this a little late, but better late than never, especially when it comes to reviewing Sola. I visited Sola in June 2013 (had to put December to post this) after my classes ended. It was an amazing experience. The dishes were beautifully plated, and the waiter was attentive, but not burdensome. One plate was missing caviar, but... More

Myself and my husband went here whilst on our honeymoon in Paris. We have both said since it was the stand out meal whilst we were there and we would go back in an instant (hopefully for our anniversary)! We went at lunch time as we had booked places before we went and needed to fit everything in. The day... More

We were a party of three at Sola last week and were amazed by the meal served. There was no menu or carte presented, we were just asked if there were any foods we didn't like or had allergies to. With great attention to timing, the tasting menu was laid before us, no rush. There were a few amuse bouches,... More

We sat on the ground floor (the restaurant has a Japanese room downstairs. Both rooms were full when we were there), simply because we dislike to remove our shoes. We had each, this is compulsory, the tasting menu at 98 euros each. This was quite remarkable and both of us enjoyed everything except a single dish and this had more... More

Hidden behind a small wood door in front of Notre Dame, Sola can be a great surprise for all those are looking for new tastes adventures in Paris The mix of cultures, influences, materials and experiences is reflected by the chef in the culinary process of this not japanese restaurant. I had my dinner downstairs in a traditional japanese environment... More

You can easily miss this outstanding restaurant as it has a very unassuming facade on a small street. But you would be missing one of the best meals in Paris. Degustation of modern dishes fresh from the market (and the fertile mind of the chef) with a unique use of Japanese flavors. Taste and presentation among the best i ever... More

I am afraid that I ate something at the restaurant that seriously disagreed with me and I was violently sick on the street just after leaving - which is a real shame. The restaurant is small but excellent inside. The service is very good and I considered the selection I made was value for money - despite my being ill.
