Great spot for a great takeaway.

Really enjoyed this little gem. Was pleased to be welcomed by an English speaking Barista who was very helpful and made some delicious Lattes for us to enjoy on the run. Would recommend if you're in the area.

Coffee was great. Vibe is relaxed with music, art and whimsicality in the decor. Close enough to most tourist spots but enough spaces inside to escape either with a friend or your laptop. Staff were helpful and pleasant. That being said, €23 for four flat whites is a bit eye watering and comparable to Starbucks prices. Still a recommend though.

This cafe came up as one of the top 5 cafes in Paris and did not disappoint. It's about a 5 minute walk from the Hotel de Ville and delicious. It's been in the city for about 10 years and has a fantastic coffee roaster/cafe vibe. The shop is surprisingly bigger than it originally seems and they have a wide... More

La Cafeotheque serves the best tasting coffee that I have ever tasted. Their desserts are a true delight as well, but don't expect much more than that. This is a cafe, not a restaurant. It is a place where you will find people relaxing with the coffee concoction of their choice and nibbling a pastry or slice of cheese cake.

Searched out this café on the basis of 'Good Coffee in Paris' website, but oh so disappointing. Found it around 2 pm hoping for a late lunch- it's in a lovely location, but the staff couldn't have been less interested. They'd run out of the plat du jour and only had a few tired cakes and deflated croissants to offer... More

I love this place. It is really adorable, especially the Salon Tropicale (you'll know which room that is when you see it!). The best time to be in there is as the sun is starting to set, the big windows let in that 'golden hour' light and everything looks lovely. Now, the coffee. Excellent, I don't even know what else... It's not enough that this has a lovely view of Notre Dame outside the windows that front the shop. It's not enough that they have dozens of kinds of coffee from all over the world. It's also cozy, with great food, and great service. You don't have to be a coffee snob to enjoy this place, but if you are... More

I was last here in 2010 - this place was highly recommended by coffee connoisseurs in my hometown Cape Town. I was a lot less impressed this time around. The shop layout has changed and it's great but the coffee tasted sharp and a bit burnt and a hint of sour to me. The cheesecake though was excellent. Personally I... More

This is a coffee lover's paradise. Special blends, comfortable seating for hanging out and visiting. Great pain chocolat and croissants.

At cafeotheque, they take coffee very seriously without being precious about it. If you are a coffee-phile, I'm sure they will gladly share their love for arabica. But if you just want a relaxed coffee in a boho place, this is the place for you

Staying in Le Marais

Neighborhood Profile
Le Marais
The Marais is a winding maze of multi-faceted streets that beg to be explored. It bursts with small boutiques, historic buildings, cozy traditional restaurants, and hidden parks. Around each corner, you'll come across little gems of architecture spanning the centuries, from understated medieval towers to classical libraries and 17th century splendor. This neighborhood unites a rich mix of people of all ages, but it's best known for the gay scene mostly in the south and the Jewish community around Rue des Rosiers.
