Disappointing food

We walked around for a while looking for a great place to eat, this place looked great, it's a beautiful rock structure inside, really nice. the prices are quiet steep so you'd expect some really good quality cuisine but it's ordinary really and the presentation doesn't help much. The service was... read more

We stopped here for lunch after a morning of walking in Paris. We received a warm welcome and enjoyed a 3 course meal for €16 a head. The choice was reasonable and the food great. We waited a while for the starter, vegetable soup, but we weren't in a rush and the buzzy atmosphere was very plessant. The soup was... More

It was a weekend evening and we were looking for a nice place to eat in the Marais. Many places were full up and, while Equinox was quite full, there were a couple of tables left. The welcome was fine, the menu and wine list looked fine and we were looking forward to a nice meal. Unfortunately, while my main... More

Two of us had an excellent dinner here in September 2015. The service was slow but we weren't in a hurry, the food was excellent and the waiter kept our attention with complimentary drinks while we waited for the plats. Great interior. The walk to the rest rooms in the ancient basement (now a nightclub) was unique because of the... More

The streets were packed with fellow tourists eating famous falafel sandwiches, but we needed to sit down! We found Equinox, thank goodness -- and rolled the dice on the Plat du Jour. WOW! The jolly waiter set before us a vast enamel pot loaded with moules (steamed fresh mussels) in a magically delicious broth. The chips alongside were cut from... More

The genuine warm wellcome, the atmosphere of an authentic parisian bistro, the simple but well prepared meal, all this together made our evening with the Equinox in the cetre of the Marais unforgettable. Thanks to the gifted cook , the attentive servants who are looking after you and the ever friendly "patron" we enjoyed the lovely dinner.

My French friends brought me to this restaurant in the Marais on a Saturday night and we had a marvelous time. We sat outside and had a wonderful meal - my friend had a vegetarian pasta dish and I had a meal with scallops. We also had a bubbly bottle of champagne and bread with an olive tapenade. Warning, if... More

Visited this restaurant with my wife for an evening meal. The setting is perfect on cobbled streets in the Jewish quarter. Food was of an excellent standard and very good value for money. We sat outside and although a busy street it was still quiet enough to feel romantic. Our waiter Yohan was fantastic and made us feel very welcome.... More

Set on the picturesque Rue des Rosiers pedestrian street in an old Jewish quarter, it's quiet and pretty and great for people watching. I had the set menu for lunch, featuring grilled pork ribs au poivre with delicious pommel frittes—which bear NO RELATION to French Fries in America. Totally delicious, followed by a nice peach sorbet.

Staying in Le Marais

Neighborhood Profile
Le Marais
The Marais is a winding maze of multi-faceted streets that beg to be explored. It bursts with small boutiques, historic buildings, cozy traditional restaurants, and hidden parks. Around each corner, you'll come across little gems of architecture spanning the centuries, from understated medieval towers to classical libraries and 17th century splendor. This neighborhood unites a rich mix of people of all ages, but it's best known for the gay scene mostly in the south and the Jewish community around Rue des Rosiers.
