I first came to this restaurant when I was 10 years old, and every time I've come back to Paris, Verlaine is on my list of places I must go back to. This time, I came back with my girlfriend, and we found this location as amazing as ever. First, the food is absolutely incredible, and is very reasonably priced.... More

We found this place through glowing recommendations on trip advisor. It didnt disappoint - the staff were very friendly and service excellent. The food was excellent french bistro fare just as you'd expect - and it was very reasonably priced. I highly recommend the onion soup and steak. Only downside was their was no tarte tatin, and the tarte normand... More

On our recent trip to Paris my husband took me here for dinner on our first night. He had been to this restaurant once before and thought I would like it. He was right!!! It was everything I thought dinner in Paris should be! The restaurant is small and intimate with exposed brick, pictures on the walls and fresh flowers... More

We stumbled upon this place, and happily there was space for our family of 4 at first sitting (7pm) without a booking. Our kids (still jet lagged) weren't up to trying anything adventurous for dinner so opted for onion soup on the promise they could then have dessert -soup didn't really hit the spot for them, but the lovely man... We booked a table online, which was a good call as the restaurant was full! We were late but called in and the host was very helpful and friendly and kept our table. The venue is small but its size gives it a very romantic atmosphere. The service was excellent, friendly and our waiter recommended a great wine to go... More

I had dinner here and was expecting excellent food. Staff was lovely but the food was a big disappointment. I had an onion soup and It just did´t have any taste in it. Main course (I had duck) was better though. The restaurant was full of Swedish tourists (I do like Swedish people) and there was no local people at... More

We came here mid-week and were lucky to get a table. You will probably have to make reservations if your are coming here on a weekend. The restaurant is cosy and typically French. We chose a fixed three course menu and were not disappointed. The house wine was average, but not bad. The staff was charming and entertaining, and at... More

That was our last dinner in Paris and we were hoping to have it in a classy French restaurant. The restaurant decor is a little cheesy, the food was reasonable priced but mediocre in quality and lacks originality, the wait stuff were weird but attentive. Overall, it was not necessarily a bad dinner, yet it was not even close to... More

Staying in Quartier Latin

Neighborhood Profile
Quartier Latin
The Latin Quarter bursts with intellectual life, architectural splendor and ongoing merriment. The small streets are filled with classical buildings, student bars and lively eateries while the squares are dominated by historic monuments. The area is defined by the 800-year-old Sorbonne University, where Latin once prevailed, and is famous for the Pantheon which celebrates the great men and women of France. During the day students rush from classes to the library and intellectuals people watch from the terraced cafés. As night time falls the surrounding establishments fill up and the merriment really begins. The liveliest parts are around Rue Mouffetard, lined with crêperies and international street food eateries, and Place de la Contrescarpe characterised by terraced brasseries, this neighborhood provides real nourishment for the mind, belly, and soul.
