Good place for simple breakfast

Had lunch once and breakfast twice here during a short stay in Paris as it was near to hotel, had consistently good service and was reasonably priced given the location. Basic French food but good quality - omelette, bread, croissant, coffee, moules etc.

Went there for dinner. The bad reputation of Paris service was met here! They refused to give me table close to window, immediately shouting no-no when I tried to sit down. I was on my own, but place was half empty?! Service guy didn't care about anyone not talking French, very rude attitude. His every move gave an impression of... More

This is a chain restaurant, and we only ate here because it was 10:30 at night, they were across the street from our hotel, we were hungry and tired from a flight and airport traffic, and had no reservations anywhere for dinner. We knew it wasn't going to be fantastic, but we were pleasantly surprised. Service was great - friendly... More

Stopped for late night food before going back to the hotel and food was decent. Waitresses were friendly and had a decent selection on the menu. Great for a late meal.

Popped in for quick bite to eat late at night. Tank in main entrance had dead crabs at the bottom of the tank.. Very off putting. The place was actually quite smelly. We had a desert and left.. Wasn't able to stomach any real food

A restaurant offering Alsace fare, on a Monday evening when many other local restaurants were closed. There was no clear indication externally as to whether they were actually open - only by seeing other diners enter did we become aware that they were. We were quickly seated, menus proffered and "special" draft beers served. The menu, whilst certainly interesting for... More

There were some good bits and some less wonderful here. My choucroute - heavy with charcuterie - was quite good but our other dish (pork ribs) was less than wonderful. The range of happy hour drinks was ok, but not likely to encourage a return visit. It wasn't defective in any way, but did little to create atmosphere or a... More

Interesting concept, Alsatian cooking. French style and content, German quantities. It is facing the Gare de Lyon so you expect a run down tourist restaurant; come inside and everything changes. No street noise, good wine, good food. Either german style pannekuchen, sauerkraut, or french style pate de fois gras and maigret de canard. Alsatian beer avilable ( expensive) in German... More

We decided to have dinner at this restaurant. On entering we were told by the barman to wait to be seated. The restaurant was not very full. We waited, as instructed, and waited. Staff walked past us but nobody attended to us. We waited about 3 minutes and then decided either we were not visible or not wanted. So we... More

Whilst this restaurant, no doubt, once had the feel of a bijou and well regarded bistro/restaurant. Today it feels a little tired. On the positive side the Moules Mariners was well prepared and the service was equally professional and pleasant. That said there are certainly better restaurants about (perhaps the Executive Chef was on his August holidays?) The Onion Soup... More
