Just a meal

There were some good bits and some less wonderful here. My choucroute - heavy with charcuterie - was quite good but our other dish (pork ribs) was less than wonderful. The range of happy hour drinks was ok, but not likely to encourage a return visit. It wasn't defective in any way, but did... read more

Interesting concept, Alsatian cooking. French style and content, German quantities. It is facing the Gare de Lyon so you expect a run down tourist restaurant; come inside and everything changes. No street noise, good wine, good food. Either german style pannekuchen, sauerkraut, or french style pate de fois gras and maigret de canard. Alsatian beer avilable ( expensive) in German... More

We decided to have dinner at this restaurant. On entering we were told by the barman to wait to be seated. The restaurant was not very full. We waited, as instructed, and waited. Staff walked past us but nobody attended to us. We waited about 3 minutes and then decided either we were not visible or not wanted. So we... More

Whilst this restaurant, no doubt, once had the feel of a bijou and well regarded bistro/restaurant. Today it feels a little tired. On the positive side the Moules Mariners was well prepared and the service was equally professional and pleasant. That said there are certainly better restaurants about (perhaps the Executive Chef was on his August holidays?) The Onion Soup... More

We had lunch here. The food is quite tasty. Being a different type of quisine to what we are used to it made a nice change. The staff are friendly and approachable and the setting is quite nice as well. They have both indoor and outdoor seating for those who enjoy people watching. A nice lunch overall.

Four of us went last night, especially to have moule frites. It was fantastic. Cozy table inside. Lots of people enjoying the varied menu - seafood platters seemed popular! All 4 of us had green salad, followed by moule frites. Very fresh, perfectly steamed. Frites crispy and light - absolutely delicious. Service efficient and attentive. Well worth a trip for... More

Food and service were mediocre, to the most, but what I loved best was the little mouse that kept on crossing the room, looking for some food to grab! She looked really pretty, with a nice and shining fur, as a proof of the superior quality of food she was getting. Once I decided to name her Jerry, I tried... More
