Terrific Place for a Student Budget

Saw this place after a trip to the Pantheon, which is right up the street. It was recommended by a friend of mine. When I first got there, I thought I would have to pay an arm and a leg at first sight of the place, but the prices are definitely in the range of a student like myself. Eating... read more

We ordered four different dishes for a family evening meal - I would have happily eaten any of them! Excellent value for money too, and good service.

Nice place, good drinks and the food looks nice. I have eaten ALOT of burgers around the Paris city and this is the place who have the best burger. Even in Norway they do not have a burger like this. Fantastic

Over the course of threee days in the 5th we had lunch, a (very) late evening drink and breakfast. On each occassion the staff were friendly and helpful - what more can you ask of a local bar?

This resturant is right by the Pantheon, and in an interesting section, but was, on the interior, dark, cramped (I don't mean cosy, I mean cramped), with haphazard service and not very good food. My husband had duck breast, which could not be cut at all, my lamb shank was ok, kind of messy, bottle of wine was not the... More

Very nice location - you can sit and enjoy the view on Pantheon and 5th district of Paris. Food is average, almost no choice for vegetarians. Prices were reasonable as for Paris.

We could not eat either of our dishes. They just did not seem fresh. Salad was tinged with brown and limp. Meat had funny smell. Enjoyed having a drink and seeing the Pantheon on on side and the lit up Eiffel Tower in the distance on the other side, but can't recommend.

Ordered the steak with challots (medium). After having only to wait 3 or 4 minutes, our diner was served. Steak was raw and after chewing 3 minutes on 1 piece, I had to give up due to cramps in my jaws.

Staying in Quartier Latin

Neighborhood Profile
Quartier Latin
The Latin Quarter bursts with intellectual life, architectural splendor and ongoing merriment. The small streets are filled with classical buildings, student bars and lively eateries while the squares are dominated by historic monuments. The area is defined by the 800-year-old Sorbonne University, where Latin once prevailed, and is famous for the Pantheon which celebrates the great men and women of France. During the day students rush from classes to the library and intellectuals people watch from the terraced cafés. As night time falls the surrounding establishments fill up and the merriment really begins. The liveliest parts are around Rue Mouffetard, lined with crêperies and international street food eateries, and Place de la Contrescarpe characterised by terraced brasseries, this neighborhood provides real nourishment for the mind, belly, and soul.
