Great location and atmosphere, food not bad

The location is very good, with a great view of the Pantheon and at night the Eiffel Tower with its lights. You can sit inside or out on the pavement if the weather is nice (or not, it is covered!) Food wise, one of us thought the food was excellent and way better than expected, the other that... read more

Location is very close by the Pantheon. We had lunch there, then ordered chicken with mashed and fillet of sole with rice. Chicken was okay, sauce was good. Sole fish was okay too. Love the rose wine.

The was very simply done and uninspired. The view f the Eiffel Tower was great at sunset, especially since the clouds in the sky were lit up in different pastel colors, but even that didnt make up for the bland meal. I had the chicken and my wife the salmon pasta. The prices were very reasonable considering the location.

We decided to try this restaurant and were not disappointed. I had one of the best chicken dinners ever. We shared a cheese tray and it was good. My chicken dinner came with mashed potatoes and i got basmanti rice as well. It was very good. I had chocolate cake for dessert it was good. The waiter spoke pretty good... More

Fave little bar for a late night drink. Sitting here, you can see the Pantheon on one side, the Eiffel Tower on the other. WOW. Midnight, look to your left and see the sparkling lights for 5 magical minutes coming from the Tower. Reasonable prices, nice people working there. Great people watching.

Comptoir du Pantheon, like so many places in Paris, hasn't changed their menu in at least 5 years-and with good reason too! The menu is a fantastic range, from simple croques, to elaborate salads, to luxurious meat and fish dishes. If there is one recommendation I would tell anyone about this place, is to order one of their salads! They... More

Le Comptoir du Pantheon was just a 10 minute walk from our hotel and frequently came up in searches for recommended places to eat in the region. We decided to visit and were not disappointed, the previous reviews were pretty spot on. The service was exceptionally friendly, waiters are happy to speak in English and there was hardly a wait... Loved the croissants! The ones in Australia just aren't the same. 6.5 euros gets you a coffee or tea, orange juice, large croissant and baguette with butter. A simple yet delicious way to start the day.

Staying in Quartier Latin

Neighborhood Profile
Quartier Latin
The Latin Quarter bursts with intellectual life, architectural splendor and ongoing merriment. The small streets are filled with classical buildings, student bars and lively eateries while the squares are dominated by historic monuments. The area is defined by the 800-year-old Sorbonne University, where Latin once prevailed, and is famous for the Pantheon which celebrates the great men and women of France. During the day students rush from classes to the library and intellectuals people watch from the terraced cafés. As night time falls the surrounding establishments fill up and the merriment really begins. The liveliest parts are around Rue Mouffetard, lined with crêperies and international street food eateries, and Place de la Contrescarpe characterised by terraced brasseries, this neighborhood provides real nourishment for the mind, belly, and soul.
