Great space inside and out. Decent food too

Came here with a friend for dinner. We started the meal on the terrace outsude which was pleasant. However, it started to rain so they had to move everyone inside which was a huge job ... but they did it pretty professionally. The inside space is actually more interesting ... and less smokey! We had lunch here on a Saturday in July, 2015. The weather was beautiful and we opted for a table outside. We have had lunch at Palais de Tokyo before (in fact if I recall things correctly the place is called Tokyo Eats, at least that's what the wait staff's t-shirts say). It's a great place to combine a visit... More

Tokyo Eat has a terrace connected to the Palais de Tokyo and is lit up at night. A nice setting just of the Eiffel Tower. The place was full but the service was still up to standard and very quick. Different dishes of reasonable to good standard. Ingredients used are very different at times which makes it an interesting place... More

I visited the Palais de Tokyo during July 2015 and it was a quite interesting experience. The space is huge and has a lot to offer to its visitors, when I was there a big contemporary artshow collective was going on. I have to admit (and I am an artist - fine art photographer) that some exhibitions were a bit... More

Tone for meal set when waiter walked away from us without showing us where our table was (he pointed in direction of 10 or so tables and grunted at us). Meal arrived quickly but both pork ribs and chicken were way over cooked and tastless. Food quality and snobby and extremely rude service made this restaurant way over priced.

On a Tuesday in June 2015 I attended in Paris to the saddest scientific conference of my life (on the energy which could save the planet)... On Wednesday, I was invited to have lunch in the Terrace of the Palace of Tokyo (the restaurant opens in the terrace only during summer). The food : 1) Aubergine / courgette / tomate... More

I ordered sparkling water. The gave me still water. I can pass over that, but... I ordered tartare. They gave me a fillet salad (with a ridiculously small amount of meat). The waiter looked like i was annoying when I told them about the mistake. A good chef is useless if you don't have a good service, and is totally... More

By the way: They serve the best beer you can have: a Grrrolsh (Grolsch, dutch) 45 cl with a pull-off top. (Normal in Holland but very special in France !) There is another restaurant also "Monsieur Blue", with a view to the Seine, but this one is next to the museum entry. "Venir c'est bien, revenir c'est mieux". Ofcourse I... More

Staying in Trocadero

Neighborhood Profile
Trocadero
This is the neighborhood of grand and impressive Haussmann-designed apartments and buildings. National museums overlook the Eiffel Tower and embassies fill the avenues and streets. Locals head to the butcher, florist, or bakery on their daily rounds amidst luxury and splendor, all with a view over Paris and its most famous tower. Snuggled in between the grand buildings are small art galleries and homes of historical significance. With a rich legacy from 19th century politics, art, and architecture, you can’t help but be reminded of the belle époque, the Universal Exhibitions and the nobility that have frequented and shaped these streets.
