Typical Paris bistrot, not tourist oriented

On a cold January night, looking for a decent meal within a short walk from our apartment, we took TA advice and turned up without a booking at "Au Jardin". Glad we did! We shared the house-made foie gras, had a main each, and shared a dessert, so we fitted the two-course menu at €24 per head... read more

Went dinning after a show at a theater nearby. The prices seemed okay for the area and the menu was enticing. We both choose a "petit jardin" menu with starter and main course, for 24€ each with a glass of wine. For starter : the "oeuf cocotte" was okay, not great, just okay. And the fish "tartare" was good too,... More

We had a great meal here in Paris. We had read that it was difficult to get a table but we chanced our luck without a reservation and they squeezed us in. The prices weren't too expensive and the food was very good. They didn't speak much English and we didn't speak much French but we still managed to get... More

Two gentlemen in Paris for business, trying out a restaurant near the hotel at which we were staying, and which was recommended by the hotel staff. We found the ambiance to be good, with the dining room having textured walls and interesting architecture. The service by the restaurant staff was prompt and attentive, without being intrusive. We each ordered the... More

We were catching up with some friends in Paris and had dinner here last night. Food was fantastic, reasonably priced and the service was excellent. Very fresh ingredients were used and the seafood was amazing. Would highly recommend if you are in Paris.

We were two couples staying in Paris (self catering) so decided to visit Au Jardin after walking past it in the afternoon. We were welcomed warmly and shown to our table. The waiter was interested in advising us about the food, which we appreciated. We all enjoyed our choice of food, I had the tuna steak and my wife had... More

My husband and I read through the reviews for this place and were excited to try it out. The menu looked really good and even my husband who is a big foodie was excited. We ordered the egg and foie gras appetizers. The egg appetizer was just allost raw baked eggs and foie gras was not good and had a... More

We went here for dinner based on the stellar reviews, and because it is down the street from our holiday rental. We both ordered the 3 course menu special. We purchased: Appetizers: 1 asparagus tart - 3/5 1 foie gras - 2/5 Entrees: 1 fresh market fish - 3/5 (a piece of fish and chopper up cabbage that just had... More

Enjoyed a good tasty meal. The main portion was on the small side so if you're hungry take a starter. My partner had fish which was cooked to perfection. Friendly atmosphere and prompt service.

Staying in Opera / Bourse

Neighborhood Profile
Opera / Bourse
The neighborhood around Opéra and Bourse is a belle époque paradise of grand boulevards, refined arcades, and mass-market art-nouveau entertainment. Here, modern day workers continue to take advantage of the legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theaters, and cinemas sit side by side with French bistros predominating in one area and Japanese restaurants in another. The area is most famous for the Palais Garnier opera house and glamorous department stores.
