A good Italian address in Paris

The place is small and charming, with a cozy, "low light" but informal atmosphere and a friendly service. The pasta with tomatoes, aubergine and ricotta (alla Norma) was delicious and generously portioned. The price was reasonable, even if not cheap. The two waiters, though, are overwhelmed in... read more

The restaurant is well located in Paris. The food is acceptable. I was waiting better because my friends recommended it. The table are small (that's Paris). The service is efficient. Around 30 euros for the main plate, a glass of wine and a coffee.

Nice enough place, food was good-but nothing fantastic and some of the staff a little ignorant. The tables are really crammed in, so no good if your shy or clostrophobic.

This was a first time for us; we chose if because it was only two blocks away from our apt - around the corner from Place Mexique. Arrived without reservations at around 8pm; the place was full soon after that. The décor is average and tables are laid in standard efficient Parisian restaurant (have to pull table out to let... I love Italian food. This, was by far, some of the best Italian food I've ever had. The bowls of pasta were quite a good size and the prices were quite reasonable for the quality of food. The wait staff were wonderful and quite pleasant. We will likely go back before we move on to Munich.

The eggplant stater was delicious - a large portion and full of mozzarella. Great sauce but the eggplant a bit undercooked. The mains were of varying success. I would give the seafood pasta a 5 but the veal scallopini with Parma ham was so salty is was almost not edible. A 2 or 3. The service was very nice and... More

We went to have dinner at Sgabetti with my Parisian friend. She knows the place for many years and indeed it was a fine Italian restaurant! the place is nice and romantic, there are a few tables outside too. The pasta was excellent and the wine selection is very nice. They have a very big menu with pizza, fish meat... More

As in most restaurants in Paris this restaurant is small but big enough to fit our table of 15 with advanced reservations. We were celebrating a birthday and the staff was very accommodating. I mostly enjoy homemade Italian food but I was very impressed with the food here. The veal and pasta made the top 5 of my experiences. The... More

Staying in Trocadero

Neighborhood Profile
Trocadero
This is the neighborhood of grand and impressive Haussmann-designed apartments and buildings. National museums overlook the Eiffel Tower and embassies fill the avenues and streets. Locals head to the butcher, florist, or bakery on their daily rounds amidst luxury and splendor, all with a view over Paris and its most famous tower. Snuggled in between the grand buildings are small art galleries and homes of historical significance. With a rich legacy from 19th century politics, art, and architecture, you can’t help but be reminded of the belle époque, the Universal Exhibitions and the nobility that have frequented and shaped these streets.
