Modern Parisian food

Qued up at 6.50 to grab a table at Frenchies when it opened at 7, we were not the only ones and the tiny restaurant was soon packed. A real French bistro feel, we enjoyed small portions of winkles and crab mousse with wine and beer, a very good standard of food. Little disappointed being British... read more

The best way to start your dinner with a family of six is to order a dessert!:) NO,no ..First, it's a reservation! The restaurant is really small, but cozy. Our children have made it ahead of time. We started our dinner with a tasting menu. My husband , who is vegetarian for more than ten years) tried a piece of... More

My wife and I visited French in july and had an exquisite meal! WE tried the tasting menu, and my wife even tried the fish (despite HATING fish). Every course was outstanding, and the staff was super friendly. Interestingly enough, everyone we met in the restaurant was travelling, and looked to be enjoying their meals just as much Greg (chef)... More

On our last night in Paris we were treated to a culinary experience at Frenchie. We had the tasting menu which proved worthy of the Michelin star rating. The very special Fois gras was the best we had in Paris with layers of jellied goodness with flavours that blended and complimented so well. We tried things that we hadn't tried... More

This is a fine restaurant in a city with a lot of fine restaurants. Wait for a table is upwards of 2 months. Concierge at our hotel got us a reservation for the same night we asked and there were at least 2 empty tables in this tiny restaurant during our 2 hour visit. Probably because we ate unfashionably early... More

My husband and I were visiting Paris for our 5th wedding anniversary and we had wanted to go to Frenchie ever since we booked our flights. We heard nothing but great things about Frenchie to go from our friends who had gone the previous year, and we had hoped to have a rustic sit down dinner with a fresh daily... More

We had dinner here our first night in paris and it was a real treat. Frenchie had a modern take on French food with some really amazing and unique dishes. Our favorite was the grilled octopus, probably the best we have ever had! Though each dish was outstanding!

We chose to have the five course menu and were wowed by the cooking.. this is a restaurant you should not miss! This is a very small place and you need to make reservations at least one month in advance. We sat next to a couple from England and he had tried four times before and was never successful as... We made our reservation 1 month in advance via phone after many, many attempts. This was our first dinner in Paris. We opted for the tasting menu and sat at the chef's table. The food was great, very modern French cuisine. My only criticism would be that we also chose the wine pairing option and I was not impressed with... More

We had dinner at the wine bar a few weeks ago. First of all, we absolutely adored our waiter. A Toronto transplant with just enough attention deficit disorder to stop whatever else he was doing to ask us for a drink order as we waited for our table (the place was packed). Once we sat down, our waiter suggested a... More

Staying in Opera / Bourse

Neighborhood Profile
Opera / Bourse
The neighborhood around Opéra and Bourse is a belle époque paradise of grand boulevards, refined arcades, and mass-market art-nouveau entertainment. Here, modern day workers continue to take advantage of the legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theaters, and cinemas sit side by side with French bistros predominating in one area and Japanese restaurants in another. The area is most famous for the Palais Garnier opera house and glamorous department stores.
