A very special welcome to Paris

We went to Frenchie on our first night in Paris. As expected, everything was perfectly executed, the staff welcoming and helpful, every mouthful exceptional. Chef Michael & crew have created a dining oasis at Frenchie. The food & service and equally great. I have been to Frenchie 3 times during various trips to Paris. It is very hard to get a reservation, however if you show up for the 1900hrs or 2130hrs seating and ask for a table for two, you are most likely... More

I am someone who really enjoys dining out and anything food related in general, but it has been a long time since I have been blown away by a meal like I was last night. My mouth is watering just thinking about the meal. It wasn't just me, everyone on our table of 5 felt the same way. It was... More

Some of the dishes are one of the best dishes I have ever had, go for the tasting menu if you can. The service was only ok though.

We booked many weeks ahead and it was worth the wait. Every course wowed us and we revelled in every bite. Staff were lovely - dinner here was a special highlight on our trip.

We had a lovely dinner at Frenchie. We sat at the bar so I really enjoyed watching some of the desserts and small plates get set up. We had the tasting menu, and were so full by the end! Each plate was beautifully styled, and tasted delicious, it was almost too much food though. Service was quick and friendly. Each... More

Yes there were a couple of minor irritations - arriving at 1825 and having to circle the block, and a compact table, but forgive these little things, sit back, relax, and enjoy super wine and amazing food. The portions were not massive but by the end of the menu carte blanche we were adequately fed! One out of the 5... More

So we were rather jet lagged this being our first night back in Paris and we thought we would never get into Frenchie so wandered down at 19h00 to French Wine Bar directly across a charming narrow cobblestone street near Le Bourse. This is a lovely traditional style Paris wine bar with truly beautiful food. The style and presentation and... More

Yup, read and saw all the hype and was excited to get a reservation here to experience the food. we arrived a few minutes early to wait with the crowd to enter the hallowed space. Greeting and wait staff were efficient and pleasant. The rest of the patrons around us not so much. Everyone was a twitter exchanging "war (... More

This is for Frenchie Bar-A-Vins (Wine Bar) because there is no trip advisor listing for this restaurant. No reservations, had no trouble walking in at 7:30 though it did fill quickly. I totally agree, this is totally over-hyped. I gave 4 stars because the food is excellent, but I was truly shocked when the ceviche and calamari came as appetizers... More

Staying in Opera / Bourse

Neighborhood Profile
Opera / Bourse
The neighborhood around Opéra and Bourse is a belle époque paradise of grand boulevards, refined arcades, and mass-market art-nouveau entertainment. Here, modern day workers continue to take advantage of the legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theaters, and cinemas sit side by side with French bistros predominating in one area and Japanese restaurants in another. The area is most famous for the Palais Garnier opera house and glamorous department stores.
