Exciting food but a bit snotty and pretentious

The first thing to note about this two Michelin star restaurant is that it doesn't want you to know where it is. In the pretty, but maze-like, Passage Panoramas, it is not marked by anything other than (what looks like) an A4 sheet of white paper on the door with very small writing. Everyone with a serious interest in modern dining should visit this restaurant. The chef and most of the cooking staff is Japanese, but cook in a French manner with a delicate Asian twist. The prix fixe menu is one that every serious foodie should experience, because the kitchen is so creative.

The food was good, not mind blowing, but definitely solid. I would have given it 4 to 4.5 stars. However, this review is about the communication. We went there for lunch. The waiter told us they offered a 4 course lunch and a 8-9 course dinner that had a lot of vegetables, we opted for the dinner menu. After the... More

Wow! Surprised I was... Surprise menu, simply amazing. Every detail was measured, did the full course menu with wine pairing. It was truly something to remember

On a recent family trip to Paris, my husband and I joined my sister and brother-in-law for a kid-free meal at this gem of a place. Hidden in an picturesque alley, the tiny restaurant offers a tasting menu, accompanied by an extraordinary wine list. The menu changes daily, so you never know what will be served until your waiter tells... More

Went there as a party of three for a gastronomic lunch. The food was definitely amazing and the service was excellent. From the first pre-lunch to dessert, we were treated to 9 courses, plus 4 desserts of really well designed, balanced and executed courses. The bias is towards lighter food for each course, but nobody was hungry at the end... More

A tiny, sparsely decorated room in an understated entrance in the Passage Panoramic is well worth a visit. The fixed "surprise" menu was well executed and especially delicious. Very creative and well balanced. Service and wine recommendations were excellent.

Pure French Chic. Absolute ambience. Amazing food and a great selection of wine. Brilliant attention to service and detail. Well worth its Michelin 2 stars.

Rather nondescript entrance (we walked by it twice, thought we went to the wrong place and got on a taxi again who brought us right back to the same entrance after calling to check the address) leads to a chic minimalist cosy restaurant where the focus is clearly on the remarkable food. Fixed menu (a la kaiseki meals) with ample... More

Staying in Opera / Bourse

Neighborhood Profile
Opera / Bourse
The neighborhood around Opéra and Bourse is a belle époque paradise of grand boulevards, refined arcades, and mass-market art-nouveau entertainment. Here, modern day workers continue to take advantage of the legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theaters, and cinemas sit side by side with French bistros predominating in one area and Japanese restaurants in another. The area is most famous for the Palais Garnier opera house and glamorous department stores.
