Away from the maddening crowd

This is a relatively nondescript neighborhood bistro near the Luxembourg Garden. Diverse menu, nicely prepared food and a spartan yet comfortable ambience. No jive and reasonable prices with attentive service, and they're open on Sunday. It's a refreshing break.

I had a lovely meal with my husband in Paris at this restaurant. It was my birthday and we had just arrived in this area and were trying to find something special. The 2 Oliviers was an excellent choice. The food was divine and the seating area quite good although it was a very busy evening and space was limited.... More

We were in Paris for 5 day's and we used the city guide app to find our restaurants. The reviews where good so when we where in the neighbourhood we decided to eat here. When entering the restaurant it was empty and the waiter was nowher to be found. Eventually we got ourselves a table and we ordered our food.... More

It's a restaurant for everyone. People who like meat, fish or only vegetables are welcome. The food is very good. It's a small and pleasant place.

Adorable little bistro, just opposite La Senate (Palais de Luxembourg). Particularly attractive because it is intimate but not pretentious. Apparently, a meeting place for senators during the week so the food must be very good for those demanding gourmands. Aux 2 Olives is open on a sunday evening - often a challenge when eating in Paris on the weekend. Anyway,... More

We chose the restaurant based on the menu displayed at the door. Unfortunately the quality of the food was average and even worse the speed of the service really makes you think everything must have been dressed on the dishes hours ago. The server was nice but we never ever have seen such a high speed service, this makes eating... More

We finished our trip to Paris with dinner at Aux 2 Oliviers. It was probably the best meal we had, excellent service, very good food. We were able to get in without a reservation, but as the evening wore on we saw a few parties without reservations turned away. The starters, main plates, and desserts were all quite good, very... I found this restaurant kind of by accident on Lafourchette. Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious (salmon brochette, crème brûlée au fois gras, malgret de canard, crème brûlée normale) and with the discount the two course meal with a bottle of wine came to less than 25 euros per person. I would definitely go back.

Just left Aux 2 Olivers and had to read what other Trip Advisors thought. Walking by is what caught my eye. Once inside, I kinda wanted to leave but didn't want to be impolite. As others have said, there's one server running the front of the house. Remarkably he does his job well and is very efficient. Unfortunately the food... More

This is an interesting little place with rather odd decor. It sort of seems as though it was designed by a committee, with several people making contributions - kind of like a camel. The service was very prompt and efficient, especially by Parisian standards. There was only one person working in the front of the house - he was the... More

Saint-Germain-des-Pres
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighborhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères.
