The grandly named Château de l'Ouest is just a short walk from Paris's Montparnasse train station. It is a wonderfully French restaurant dedicated to the panoply of French gastronomy. Fran&ccdil;ois Quesnel is both the chef and owner and brings all his passion for different French regional dishes to the Château. He has sourced the very best in locally made artisanal regional produce, some of which can be bought to take away as well as ordered from the menu. There is a wide range of home made patés, meats, fish and succulent desserts to choose from. The restaurant itself has a cosy ambiance and a friendly, helpful staff.

Amazing food, excellent service

Lovely, quiet and and relaxing restaurant. The food was superb, with freshly cooked dishes full of flavour. prices are in line with the usual Paris costs, but really worth every penny. The service was excellent and the waiter was very attentive and brought full baskets of fresh crusty... read more

Lovely, quiet and and relaxing restaurant. The food was superb, with freshly cooked dishes full of flavour. prices are in line with the usual Paris costs, but really worth every penny. The service was excellent and the waiter was very attentive and brought full baskets of fresh crusty bread. Will definitely come back before we go back home.

We have been staying in the Montparnasse area and following a great meal on New Years Eve , returned for another evening on our last night in Paris. The food was delicious and prepared using local produce and typical French menu. The wine list was contained but carefully chosen. I doubt that you would experience anything better locally and we... We enjoyed a wonderful dinner here on New Years Eve. The host was diligent in looking after all guests needs. The wine and champagne well chosen and the food was varied and delicious. Ambience and service first class.

Nov 14 is a sad day in paris. This restaurant is really fabulous. The service is fabulous and food just really great. The foodies in our group love it and the "picky eater" was able to finda gourmet double cheseburger. What a wonderful experience and so gracious. The food is, we think, maybe the best food we have had in... More

Fabulous! Was wanting to have a gourmet meal in Paris and found it! Very few options on the menu meant they probably actually cooked everything fresh. We were not disappointed! Slightly more expensive than the normal, but I'd say about 17,000 times better. Loved it! Many thanks, Trip Adviser.

It's my 5th time to visit Le Chateau d'ouest since our family first travel in Paris in March 2011. Located at the west of 14 zone, the restaurant has become the must-visit restaurant when we travel in Paris. The food is delicious, the ambience is comfortable, which makes you really take time to enjoy your lunch or dinner. I recommand... More

The food was great French cuisine. The owner was very nice and helpful. The restaurant is close to Gare Montparnasse but it is in a quiet neighborhood. I can highly recommend this restaurant for dinner if you are in the 14th arrondissement.

We loved this restaurant - authentic French food with a great service to boot, without being stuffy or rude about my lack of French vocabulary! We had the rabbit, and onion soup along with the highly recommended pot au feu and lamb dish. All of it was wonderful - really recommend if near montparnasse!

Delicious meal! We had the Pot au Feu which is the chef special (sort of like beef stew and a typical french dish) and it was very tasty, delicious and really wonderful! Another member of my party had the Parillada de poisson which is a combination of 3 kinds of very delicate, fresh and very tasty fishes. The service was... More

We loved our meal at this restaurant. We had Escargot to start and the Lamb stew. Both were cooked to perfection, and did not overpower. There was plenty of food without over doing it and spoiling the experience. The waiter was very attentive and explained the menu well. Thank you to the waiter and Cristopher the chef.
