The grandly named Château de l'Ouest is just a short walk from Paris's Montparnasse train station. It is a wonderfully French restaurant dedicated to the panoply of French gastronomy. Fran&ccdil;ois Quesnel is both the chef and owner and brings all his passion for different French regional dishes to the Château. He has sourced the very best in locally made artisanal regional produce, some of which can be bought to take away as well as ordered from the menu. There is a wide range of home made patés, meats, fish and succulent desserts to choose from. The restaurant itself has a cosy ambiance and a friendly, helpful staff.

Great fresh and homemade food, one of the best double cheeseburger

A very good address near Montparnasse we would like to keep secret and just for us.. Fresh and homemade typical French food (except cheeseburger ;-), served in a quiet and charming place. The menu is not as large as those you can find on big brasseries (only 4 or 5 choices), which proves that... read more

We tried this restaurant on recommendation from our hotel. It was a great French restaurant for our family of four. We were there on a Tuesday night and it was not crowded at all. The waiter was happy to interpret the complete menu for us. They were also very good to accommodate our food allergy. The double cheeseburger was fantastic... More

Visited this restaurant on a Saturday evening, 7pm, and it was pretty quiet. The menu is concise but covers most bases. I had the double cheeseburger which was brilliant - two burgers, cheese, bacon, and salad inside, bun split into three. Lightly fried onions were served on the side (lighter version of onion rings!), with chips too. Best of all,... More

On our last night in Paris we found this restaurant near our large hotel in the Montparnasse area. The server happily interpreted the menu for us and we all tried different entrees. I shared an order of escargot with a friend, had a starter of grilled vegetables and a wonderful lamb entree. I couldn't eat it all but we shared... More

I did not arrive until 9.30pm but the welcome was very warm. I enjoyed excellent foie gras maison and rognons de veau ( veal kidneys) with a superb sauce, all washed down with 50cl of a very good Bourgeuil. The decor is now much plainer and the menu much smaller but the quality is very good.

I came here after making a booking online, thanks to the reviews on TA and other sites. I took the metro to Pernety to get close and have a nice walk. It was a weeknight and the place was not that crowded, maybe 2-3 tables occupied. The owner was very friendly and handled everything well. I went for the terrine... More

We were out exploring the neighborhood when we saw this little place and decided to give it a try for dinner that evening. We were not disappointed. The food and service were very good. The owner doubled as our waiter. He was very personable, spoke very good english and made some excellent recommendations. There were 4 of us and each... More

This quaint place is located off the beaten path and was a very pleasant surprise. Prices were reasonable as was the wine list. Worth a try.

We found this little sidewalk cafe and restaurant after a long day of touring and we wanted a glass of wine. Enjoyed it so much we came back to enjoy their food on our last night in Paris. It was 2 blocks from our hotel and I was able to walk 1 block to get a great night time picture... More
