You Can Count On Paul

This is a chain that is the most consistent through out Europe and believe it or not Toyko,Japan. The sandwiches are the best, most likely because of the bread. Pastries are excellent! This is a chain that does it right.

Paul is a chain of pastry shops in Paris. They make a very thick hot chocolate that is the best we have ever had. When we go to Paris, the first place we always hit is Paul for the hot chocolate. The Paul we like the best is at the bus #67 stop in Montmarte. Only once were we ever... More

I can always rely on Paul for nice-quality pastries and bread as well as an enjoyable breakfast or lunch. The chain has stores throughout Paris, so I know I am never far away from a "sure bet" for a snack or more. The bakery items are not made on site, however, so do not expect unusual artisan creations. For that,... More

Another go to spot for a quick bite to eat. Located throughout Paris and France, you can't go wrong at this place. Ours was on the Champs elysees and was always clean, stocked with fresh pastries, and fast. A few Euros and you'll eat like a king; or at least like a traveler. Bon appetit!

The pastries here are just fabulous. I tried 4 different ones and loved them all! I also tried the hot chocolate, this is REAL melted chocolate. Very sickly after a large cup, but totally worth it just to drink half. You can't order the cabinet items if wanting to sit inside, but if you can grab one of the tables... More

I stopped at Paul, while wandering the streets of the 6th, for lunch. I was seated promptly and well attended too. The menu had some nice lunch options ( I think I went with quiche), and my lunch was good! I don't remember it knocking my socks off but I do remember thinking it was quite delicious. The patio outdoors... More

Why are Americans so cranky? We loved this place. We had breakfast there almost every morning. The hot chocolate is thick and rich--to die for. The croissants are fresh, and they give you little shortbread cookies that are divine. They didn't sell them separately, but the waiters kept sneaking them to me. I saved up a stockpile and brought them... More

I made a special effort to locate a Paul's bakery in Paris after a recommendation from a friend and I was definitely not disappointed! Their pastries and baguettes (especially ham & cheese) are amazing and I ate numerous during my time in France. Yes, they are that good! Highly recommended, not to be missed!

We Stooped at every Paul's and got a Baguette sandwich no matter what! We loved them so much! We almost missed boarding our flight because I waited on line to get one last Baguette!

Staying in Saint-Germain-des-Pres

Neighborhood Profile
Saint-Germain-des-Pres
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighborhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighborhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.
