Description: Au Vieux Paris restaurant in the very heart of Paris, on the Ile de la Cite not two steps from Notre Dame, has history and gastronomy in its favour. Patrons Odette and Georges bring their seasonal ingredients each week from the finest organic farms in the Aveyron in southern France to create dishes like warm foie gras, duck breast a lorange, and other classics. The restaurant is sited in an Canons residence constructed in 1512 and the dcor brilliantly over the top reflects history in every detail, the heavily figured scarlet wallpaper and tented ceilings, the antique prints, the exposed stonework and rich draperies. Au Vieux Paris is terribly romantic - youll even have to stroll by the Seine to get home.

We have been coming here for a very long time and every time we enjoy the seared foie gras! This is probably the best foie in Paris! This small space is not for tall people! My husband is 6’4” and could not fit at any of the tables. The select yourself wine cellar is such a treat and so fun... More

I would not have thought that a restaurant near Notre Dame would be anything but touristy, but this place is for locals and romantics. A friend who was born in Paris begged me to go so away I went. Great menu and daily specials. Deserts made daily on site as is the bread. Scallops I ordered were promised to be... More

Just a block away from Notre Dame, this small, quaint, restaurant is wonderful. The good is very good, the house wine a good selection but the service was very amiable and fun. The decor is worth a visit alone. I recommend Sunday lunch- this was the most fun!

We passed by this tiny little restaurant while on a walking tour. We had noticed it's signboard on the street, advertising that today's lunch offered a special, "salade avec lardons". We had eaten salade avec lardons in our very first trip to Paris, back in 1986. My husband was so excited to find this dish on a menu again! The... More

This was the 4th time I had visited the restaurant and I have to say I was more than dissapointed. All prevoius visits were memorable for excellent food, drink and atmosphere however the food was a let down on this occasion. To start I had the Scallops, which were cooked nicely however lacked flavour and were tiny. One of my... More

Incredible food, atmosphere and very cozy. Recommend a selection of appetizers with a bottle of wine. Love Joselitto- the waiter. He made it all happen.

We dined here on our last night having really enjoyed meals at other restaurants in Paris but this topped it for us. You won't find the menu on line and the website does not do this establishment any favours but trust me that it is a gorgeous place. It is built from the same stone used in Notre Dame (the... More

After some major sightseeing and walking we needed a break and were tired of the brasserie scene. This small cozy spot is literally a 3 minute walk from Notre Dame down a side street. The charm and ambience were #1 on our whole visit. Bring a camera! So for lunch it was spectacular.

Server was very nice and helped us with the menu. The house wine was good middle of the road red wine. The duck was very good with a orange sause along with beef cheeks in a red wine sause was pretty good too.
