Description: On the banks of the Seine, moments from Paris' Ile de la Cite and within easy reach of Paris' most celebrated landmarks is Le Tournebièvre restaurant . The first thing that will undoubtedly strike you about the restaurant (formerly Le Rencard Gourmand) is the breathtaking view across the river. But quite apart from the fairytale setting, Le Tournebièvre is special in its own right. Its classic French bistro cuisine is hugely popular with locals so it provides a real Parisian experience, quite apart from the usual tourist-version of Parisian dining. The simple bistro interior is accompanied, in the summer months, with pavement dining under a wide, shady awning. The traditional French menu is created using fine, seasonal ingredients, with a wide choice for all tastes. And, sacre bleu, the service at Le Tournebièvre is both professional and genuinely friendly.

Le Tournebievre was found by my friend during her research before our trip to Paris. It was highly recommended and I can see why. We booked on line and got quick responses which helped our planning. The restaurant is small with lots of tables. The service was excellent with the team being young, friendly and energetic in their service. The... More

We have choosen this place to celebrate an anniversary of my husband relying on tripadvisor's reviews. Honestly, seeing the location, we were a bit anxious about the quality of food, but it was delicious, nothing to worry about, whatever you choose, it will be very good. As for the service, in this place you may forget snobish french waiters, here... More

In Paris on business and looked up this restaurant. Given its location and price thought it might be a bit of a tourist trap. As we entered restaurant people leaving commented how good it was, and they were right! Staff were very friendly and food was excellent. Therefore would highly recommend.

Terrine de foie gras starter was home made and delicious, excellent and nicely presented. Great cocktail by the bar tender ( I had a great "femme fatale"). We also had the shrimp, avocado and mango starter which was nicely spiced. The Steak a poivre was perfectly prepared " a point" with a tasty mustard sauce on the side and perfect... More

I'm really picky and quite well-travelled so for this place to get a 5 in my books is the shizzle. I even tried to go back the next night but it was shut on sundays. As other people have said, the staff have impeccable English and are very friendly. The restaurant has a really personal feel with first the barman... More

Just perfect place for lazy dinner with family. Wanderful food, friendly staff, good wine and nice walk along the river afterwards. Tables very close one to each other, but it is common. Tasty and interesting daily menu? Clean toilets. Booking very smooth, athmosphere seems to be very autentic and waiters both competent and attentive. Book and enjoy! And try the... More

We have come to Paris for the last three years, staying at the same apartment on the left bank. We have always looked for new places to eat, but had never gone to Le Tournebievre before. How unfortunate for us! On our last night in Paris on this trip, we decided to go to Le Tournebievre because of the reviews... More

We booked Le Tournebievre via email, and received both a nice confirmation, and a reminder email on the day. It's a small and cosy restaurant next to the Seine, close by Notre Dame. We had the fixed price three course menu - every course was delicious, especially the main course steaks. The Faugere excellent - just under 30Eu a bottle.... More
