Description: On the banks of the Seine, moments from Paris' Ile de la Cite and within...
On the banks of the Seine, moments from Paris' Ile de la Cite and within easy reach of Paris' most celebrated landmarks is Le Tournebièvre restaurant . The first thing that will undoubtedly strike you about the restaurant (formerly Le Rencard Gourmand) is the breathtaking view across the river. But quite apart from the fairytale setting, Le Tournebièvre is special in its own right. Its classic French bistro cuisine is hugely popular with locals so it provides a real Parisian experience, quite apart from the usual tourist-version of Parisian dining. The simple bistro interior is accompanied, in the summer months, with pavement dining under a wide, shady awning. The traditional French menu is created using fine, seasonal ingredients, with a wide choice for all tastes. And, sacre bleu, the service at Le Tournebièvre is both professional and genuinely friendly.

Nice atmosphere with good food

It's a small restaurant by the river but with exceptional service and we were very pleased with the food!

Food is very good. Unfortunately that evening they were short staffed, and service was frenetic. However, they made every attempt to be hospitable - and succeeded. Definitely worth a visit.

Our best meal in Paris this week! Would recommend the escargot and the beef tartar. Location is perfect, right beside Notre-Dame. Service is professional and prompt. They will be shutting down for a few weeks for August vacations but do try in Sept. We loved it.

Our group of 4 chose Le Tournebievre for our last night out in Paris. We appreciated the excellent service, food, and wine, and will return again. Although our apartment was within walking distance, the restaurant is also in a great location, and would be a short walk from the batobus stop.

We decided to try Le Tournebievre after seeing really positive reviews on Tripadvisor. As it turned out, our experience was just average. There was nothing wrong with it, per se, except that the wine we ordered was really not worth the money--the service was attentive, the food was well prepared. But we had much better meals for the same price... More

A beautiful and quaint French restaurant! The service is impeccable and the food was simply delicious. We came here for our final dinner in Paris... But I only wish we had found it sooner! The gentleman that was front of house was so lovely and was very helpful recommending dishes and pairing wine. The bartender whipped us up a couple... More

I've been going here for several years, I think since the first year they opened. Originally, they only had one menu in English on a dim photocopy that they passed around. I was amazed that such a good restaurant could be in such a great location and not be a tourist trap. Well, here we are several years (4?) later... More

Staying in Odeon / Saint-Michel

Neighborhood Profile
Odeon / Saint-Michel
As the bustling center of entertainment for the residents of the Rive Gauche, the activity at Odéon never stops. Boulevards are lined with traditional cafes, restaurants, and boutique cinemas. The streets surrounding the fountain at Saint-Michel provide eateries from around the world. Lively bars are just next door and the prototypical terraced French brasserie is on every corner. The setting for this area is second to none; the Haussmann-style boulevards are contrasted by monumental architecture and overshadowed by the iconic Notre Dame, all within a moment’s walk from the Seine. This neighborhood's world-famous bookshops, cafés, and streets will not fail to impress you.
