Description: On the banks of the Seine, moments from Paris' Ile de la Cite and within...
On the banks of the Seine, moments from Paris' Ile de la Cite and within easy reach of Paris' most celebrated landmarks is Le Tournebièvre restaurant . The first thing that will undoubtedly strike you about the restaurant (formerly Le Rencard Gourmand) is the breathtaking view across the river. But quite apart from the fairytale setting, Le Tournebièvre is special in its own right. Its classic French bistro cuisine is hugely popular with locals so it provides a real Parisian experience, quite apart from the usual tourist-version of Parisian dining. The simple bistro interior is accompanied, in the summer months, with pavement dining under a wide, shady awning. The traditional French menu is created using fine, seasonal ingredients, with a wide choice for all tastes. And, sacre bleu, the service at Le Tournebièvre is both professional and genuinely friendly.

A wonderful Christmas present

Spending Christmas eve here was a wonderful gift that can be experienced throughout the year. The food and service are excellent and the place is cozy. Combine a visit with Notre Dame and you will have a magnificent evening.

The owners and staff have clearly decided to try a little harder than some of Paris's more established restaurants by offering a small but well thought out menu of interesting dishes at reasonable prices. We were guided to a reasonably priced wine to go with our food by offering a tasting to help decide. With such commitment and friendly service,... More

Stopped here mid afternoon expecting the kitchen might be closed. Enjoyed the 3 course menu. The lamb fell off the bone, the creme brûlée was superb and the service excellent. Will definitely come back.

I booked this for myself and partner on a 3 day visit.Id seen previous reviews but when we arrived we were told that it had just changed hands 5 days ago,Despite an initial concern im pleased to say we had an excellent experience. The new owner was the chef, dishes were interesting though not a large choice. There were two women acting as... This was my second visit to the restaurant, I came on a work trip a couple of years ago and the food and wine really stood out in my mind, we had found the restaurant by chance as it was a few metres from our hotel. Although I couldn't remember the name of the restaurant I was determined to come... More

This place was very pleasant. The food was good, but not phenomenal (which may be due to the fact the first two dishes I wanted were gone). The service was efficiently Parisian (slow, but attentive when you wanted something). The dishes are a nice mix of French and other cooking. The menu that night had a greek style filo pastry... I reviewed this restaurant 4 years ago on my last trip to Paris, gave it 4 stars. I'm a pretty tough reviewer, but enjoyed my return so much that I bumped it to a 5 this time. Started with a crawfish/guacamole entree with a little cucumber and a bit of red pepper flakes. The pepper added a little heat to... More

We made advance reservations for a post-concert dinner. Despite getting confirmations and reminders, when we arrived, the server did not know our name, asked twice; and then explained he had no tables saved for us because he needed all the other empty tables for larger parties. He ended up seating us next to a couple who had also JUST been... More

Staying in Odeon / Saint-Michel

Neighborhood Profile
Odeon / Saint-Michel
As the bustling center of entertainment for the residents of the Rive Gauche, the activity at Odéon never stops. Boulevards are lined with traditional cafes, restaurants, and boutique cinemas. The streets surrounding the fountain at Saint-Michel provide eateries from around the world. Lively bars are just next door and the prototypical terraced French brasserie is on every corner. The setting for this area is second to none; the Haussmann-style boulevards are contrasted by monumental architecture and overshadowed by the iconic Notre Dame, all within a moment’s walk from the Seine. This neighborhood's world-famous bookshops, cafés, and streets will not fail to impress you.
