Description: On the banks of the Seine, moments from Paris' Ile de la Cite and within easy reach of Paris' most celebrated landmarks is Le Tournebièvre restaurant . The first thing that will undoubtedly strike you about the restaurant (formerly Le Rencard Gourmand) is the breathtaking view across the river. But quite apart from the fairytale setting, Le Tournebièvre is special in its own right. Its classic French bistro cuisine is hugely popular with locals so it provides a real Parisian experience, quite apart from the usual tourist-version of Parisian dining. The simple bistro interior is accompanied, in the summer months, with pavement dining under a wide, shady awning. The traditional French menu is created using fine, seasonal ingredients, with a wide choice for all tastes. And, sacre bleu, the service at Le Tournebièvre is both professional and genuinely friendly.

My husband and I walked to Le Tournebievre from our hotel in the Latin Quarter. Both recommendations from Tripadvisor, and we weren't disappointed. The restaurant spare and modern. Comfortable but not distracting from the wonderful food. My husband had the best snails he has ever tasted. I had an extremely generous appetizer of smoked and fresh burrata with roasted tomatoes.... We ate supper at La Tournebievre tonight and enjoyed both courses immensely. For starters we had the foie gras (pate style), perfectly paired with a fruit preserve, and also the mussels. For the main course, on the recommendation of our waiter, we had the Breem, which comes with pesto sauce, over a coconut rice tossed with vegetables. Sounds strange, but... More

We had our lunch here and totally enjoyed our experience! It is actually our first dining experience in a French restaurant and it turned out to be the best in our trip. Since there are only two choices for entrée, plat and dessert, we ordered all of them. The first entrée of octopus and mushroom is great but the Foie... More

I highly recommend this restaurant! I was determined to eat well in Paris and Le Tournebievre was a great way to start our vacation. It was easy to make a reservation with The Fork from tripadvisor but, unfortunately, we arrived late in Paris and reached the restaurant 2 hrs late. No problem - the host sat us immediately at a... My wife and I enjoyed our meal, but it was nothing special. I had the escargot for my appetizer, and they were very good. For my main course, I had the salmon special which was also good, but not great. I had profiteroles for desert. The puff pastry wasn't quite up to snuff, but the dark chocolate sauce was excellent.... More

This restaurant is next to the Notre Dame and the Seine. The service was very good and the food was good - but not great. With all the great restaurants in Paris, this seemed average. Don't get me wrong, the food is good, just not great.

I ate here once before, simply because of the rave reviews on Trip Advisor regarding the friendliness of the waiters. I experienced the same warmth I had read about, plus the food was delicious. I adored the chocolate-caramel lava cake dessert. I came back again with my husband, and the waiter remembered me from my last visit about a month... More

Went there for a dinner food was spectacular and fantastic presentation. Wine was well suggested. Make sure you sit in the front part of the place the rest feels like a sauna hence the aircon. Will definitely go back !

We were a bit suspicious about all the good reviews for a restaurant in a very touristic area of the city. But we loved our 3 course meal and the friendly staff, all for a very reasonable price!
