Description: On the banks of the Seine, moments from Paris' Ile de la Cite and within easy reach of Paris' most celebrated landmarks is Le Tournebièvre restaurant . The first thing that will undoubtedly strike you about the restaurant (formerly Le Rencard Gourmand) is the breathtaking view across the river. But quite apart from the fairytale setting, Le Tournebièvre is special in its own right. Its classic French bistro cuisine is hugely popular with locals so it provides a real Parisian experience, quite apart from the usual tourist-version of Parisian dining. The simple bistro interior is accompanied, in the summer months, with pavement dining under a wide, shady awning. The traditional French menu is created using fine, seasonal ingredients, with a wide choice for all tastes. And, sacre bleu, the service at Le Tournebièvre is both professional and genuinely friendly.

Everything was delicious: the bread, the garlicky snails, the pate, the filet of beef, the caramel creme brûlée, the plate of Normandy cheeses, the glass of champagne as an aperitif and the wine with the meal. It's lovely and most of the clientele was French. Will definitely return.

Chose this restaurant based on the high ratings on Trip Advisor. Was not disappointed. Not the white tablecloth place, but the food is very, very good and well presented. Small restaurant, friendly staff, professional service, great bar/cocktail menu and truly wonderful food. Started with cocktails, then a nice bottle of wine, we had the two course option and followed with... More

I was taken here for my birthday by family. They had been before and raved about it. They did not let me down. Right from the start we were welcomed and treated like we were very special. The atmosphere was warm and intimate. The menu was difficult as there were so many delicious choices to be made. We were all... More

Escargot, foie gras, French sauces and desserts. The chef-owner does a fantastic job creating a wide array of dushes, reasonably priced by Paris standards and all original. The 1 waiter for the entire small restaurant was incredible recommending dishes, wine pairings and full of information. Using English was no problem. He told us the restuaruant will close April 15th of... More

warm welcome, nice little place, staff was helpful and the meal was fantastic. You have to try snail with garlic sauce. They have really good bread and nice wine.

We once again returned to our favorite Parisian restaurant. Unfortunately, owner and chef superior, Malaury, was off the night we were there, but the food was still delicious, the service friendly and efficient, and they remembered my love of their escargots, which are the best in France. We both had the 36 € menu. Of course, I started with the... More

We had a terrific meal there. The appetizer was pretty to look and tasted very good. I had steak as the main course which was perfectly cooked and delicous. For dessert had chocolate lava cake which was fabulous. It was our best meal of the trip and as it was both our last night of our trip as well as... More

Found out about this gem on TripAdvisor after looking for a restaurant within a short walk of the Latin Quarter. This place didn't disappoint and there was delicious food delivered in the form of snails, seafood and steaks. The cocktails went down a treat too. All the waiting staff were excellent – very warm, welcoming and charming – couldn't help but... More

This was our first evening meal on our Paris trip. We arrived about 9pm which was fully booked but the male said we could come back in an hour. Very friendly and helpful. So glad we went back as the food was just amazing! I had the Rib Eye steak and was one of the best steaks I have ever... More

I was very dissapointed with the food in Paris in till I found the little restaurant near the riverbank near the Notre-dame. It was seriously one of the best dinners I have ever had. However the restaurant is very small so you need to book in advance. Also if you book on trip advisor make sure to call them up... More
