Description: On the banks of the Seine, moments from Paris' Ile de la Cite and within easy reach of Paris' most celebrated landmarks is Le Tournebièvre restaurant . The first thing that will undoubtedly strike you about the restaurant (formerly Le Rencard Gourmand) is the breathtaking view across the river. But quite apart from the fairytale setting, Le Tournebièvre is special in its own right. Its classic French bistro cuisine is hugely popular with locals so it provides a real Parisian experience, quite apart from the usual tourist-version of Parisian dining. The simple bistro interior is accompanied, in the summer months, with pavement dining under a wide, shady awning. The traditional French menu is created using fine, seasonal ingredients, with a wide choice for all tastes. And, sacre bleu, the service at Le Tournebièvre is both professional and genuinely friendly.

My wife and I enjoyed our meal, but it was nothing special. I had the escargot for my appetizer, and they were very good. For my main course, I had the salmon special which was also good, but not great. I had profiteroles for desert. The puff pastry wasn't quite up to snuff, but the dark chocolate sauce was excellent.... More

This restaurant is next to the Notre Dame and the Seine. The service was very good and the food was good - but not great. With all the great restaurants in Paris, this seemed average. Don't get me wrong, the food is good, just not great.

I ate here once before, simply because of the rave reviews on Trip Advisor regarding the friendliness of the waiters. I experienced the same warmth I had read about, plus the food was delicious. I adored the chocolate-caramel lava cake dessert. I came back again with my husband, and the waiter remembered me from my last visit about a month... More

we ordered fish for the main course. my wife wasn't pleasesd and the waiter took the plate and put in the oven for some more time and the chef by himself brought it back and asked if she is pleased. this bistro serves good food and you can spend there a nice pleasant evening.

Went there for a dinner food was spectacular and fantastic presentation. Wine was well suggested. Make sure you sit in the front part of the place the rest feels like a sauna hence the aircon. Will definitely go back !

We were a bit suspicious about all the good reviews for a restaurant in a very touristic area of the city. But we loved our 3 course meal and the friendly staff, all for a very reasonable price!

I really had high hopes for this place. I did some research online, read tripadvisor reviews and finally booked a table for dinner. The servers are really friendly and take their time to go over specials. However, when the food arrived my husband and I were disappointed. Hubby requested his steak to be "medium" but the piece of meat on... More

We made a reservation at this restaurant following the reviews we read on tripadvisor. This is a small restaurant on the left bank just opposite the rear of Notre Dame, so an excellent location for a romantic evening meal. The staff are fantastic, polite, engaging and amusing and the atmosphere was very enjoyable, bubbling happy chatter - even though in... More

In my opinion, this was the best meal I had on this entire 17 day trip to Europe. My steak was unbelievable and the lava cake was fantastic. I even ate escargot (one... very fast). This small restaurant is just across the street from Notre-Dame Cathedral so the view is a bonus. The staff was great and put to rest... More
