On the banks of the Seine, moments from Paris' Ile de la Cite and within easy reach of Paris' most celebrated landmarks is Le Tournebièvre restaurant . The first thing that will undoubtedly strike you about the restaurant (formerly Le Rencard Gourmand) is the breathtaking view across the river. But quite apart from the fairytale setting, Le Tournebièvre is special in its own right. Its classic French bistro cuisine is hugely popular with locals so it provides a real Parisian experience, quite apart from the usual tourist-version of Parisian dining. The simple bistro interior is accompanied, in the summer months, with pavement dining under a wide, shady awning. The traditional French menu is created using fine, seasonal ingredients, with a wide choice for all tastes. And, sacre bleu, the service at Le Tournebièvre is both professional and genuinely friendly.

Fabulous meal for a very reasonable price

We went to Paris with a tight budget but due to the costs of even a simple meal we thought we might do some research to see if we could get anything a bit better. We found this beautiful place and couldn't believe the price for a set menu of the quality. We could not fault one thing about the... read more

Went here for Valentines dinner having seen the reviews and on a personal recommendation. Perhaps we should have been worried when having looked at the menu and booked on line we then received a "special Valentines menu" which involved adding to the price and dramatically reducing the choice. The service was efficient - they had to get two sittings in,... More

This was by far one of my favorite meals in Paris! I was traveling on my own and wanted a great french meal. It was amazing from start to finish... the food, atmosphere and the staff were so friendly and welcoming. I highly recommend this for a great meal! Amazing!

I'm sure there are other restaurants in Paris that are famous for...whatever, but this cozy restaurant is definitely worth finding if you're in Paris. This restaurant truly lives up to the ratings it gets on TripAdvisor. The food was absolutely delicious–with very nice presentation as well–and the restaurant itself felt so cozy! My brother and I found it a little pricey,... More

It is slightly overpriced in my opinion but the food was extremely nice and the service was great. However, the portion is on the small side (unlikely to be full after three courses) and for the price it charges, there are plenty other good eateries that you can spend on.

I was eating at "Le Tournebievre" with 4 important customers from China ( very discerning medical professors) and all of us really liked this restaurant. The service was exceptional, we had a lovely table at the window and all of our dishes ( some had meat, others fish) were of high quality and tasted delicious. Same was true for desert.... More

It is a small restaurant with a great view and very helpful staff. Me and my boyfriend went there on Valentine's day and the food was very good, well cooked and tasty. I recommend this restaurant to anyone that wants to try nice food right by the river with Notre Dame on the back without spending a fortune.

A very efficiently run restaurant that was a pleasure to dine at. From making the original booking to prompt delivery of the bill, everything was perfect. The food was both excellent and reasonably priced. We would certainly return and can thoroughly recommend Le Tournebieve to one and all.

Great communication during the booking process as we were trying to organise a meal prior to a cabaret - the staff were very helpful. Food lovely, staff very welcoming and attentive. Very enjoyable evening.

Neighborhood Profile
Odeon / Saint-Michel
As the bustling center of entertainment for the residents of the Rive Gauche, the activity at Odéon never stops. Boulevards are lined with traditional cafes, restaurants, and boutique cinemas. The streets surrounding the fountain at Saint-Michel provide eateries from around the world. Lively bars are just next door and the prototypical terraced French brasserie is on every corner. The setting for this area is second to none; the Haussmann-style boulevards are contrasted by monumental architecture and overshadowed by the iconic Notre Dame, all within a moment’s walk from the Seine. This neighborhood's world-famous bookshops, cafés, and streets will not fail to impress you.
