Description: On the banks of the Seine, moments from Paris' Ile de la Cite and within easy reach of Paris' most celebrated landmarks is Le Tournebièvre restaurant . The first thing that will undoubtedly strike you about the restaurant (formerly Le Rencard Gourmand) is the breathtaking view across the river. But quite apart from the fairytale setting, Le Tournebièvre is special in its own right. Its classic French bistro cuisine is hugely popular with locals so it provides a real Parisian experience, quite apart from the usual tourist-version of Parisian dining. The simple bistro interior is accompanied, in the summer months, with pavement dining under a wide, shady awning. The traditional French menu is created using fine, seasonal ingredients, with a wide choice for all tastes. And, sacre bleu, the service at Le Tournebièvre is both professional and genuinely friendly.

This was one of the best meals that we had while away. The restaurant was very small with a small outdoor patio. It is very casual, so no need to dress up. There was only one waiter (clearly short staffed) and had the owner/chef helping him out. But I have been to restaurants that are fully staffed that didn't have... More

If you are around the Latin Quarters, do not hesitate going into Le Tourneviebre. Food is great, and so is service. France is well known for excellent cuisine and this restaurant is proof of it. In our table we had fish, duck, meat and seafood and each plate was prepared in an exquisite way. Cocktails, starters and desserts were equally... More

Because of its location (directly opposite Notre Dame) you might expect Le Tournebievre to be a tourist trap, but it is just the opposite--a serious restaurant with great food in a casual, friendly setting. Reserve online if you're planning to eat during peak hours because the dining room is small.

Went for my birthday while in Paris, great central location opposite Notre Dame. Great food (tasty pate and salmon/crab starter, pink steaks for mains and perfect chocolate fondant for desert), fantastic service, but it struggled for true french atmostphere due to 90% of the diners speaking English.

I am in Paris for a long weekend with the family, and we're nervous about going out to eat having heard stories about how Parisians are not that family friendly. That myth has been shattered so far, but especially at this restaurant. Tried to make reservations through their webpage, but there was an error, likely on my part, and we... More

It is a fantastic location, by he Sena river and close to Notre-Dame. But he best was yet to come. The waiters were more than friendly, they make you feel like you are their friends. We had superb escargots, duck and a fantastic dessert - all that matched with very nice wine.

We decided to try this restaurant on the basis of the great Tripadvisor reviews. We arrived on a very wet Wednesday evening at about 8pm to find it not so busy but we were welcomed by a friendly waiter who sat us at a table with a view of Notre Dame and quickly returned with menus. There is no a... More

Emailed you guys very clearly and have double checked your reply. As we emailed, my wife and I - on our first day in Paris and celebrating our 25th anniversary, walked to your establishment. You were closed, no note no nothing. No apology email. Perhaps you are closed on Monday like many restaurants in Paris? If so, suggest you get... More

This restaurant turned out to be one our favorites. They were friendly, great food for a nice price, and a view of Norte Dame to top it off.

This place is so good that I visited twice whilst on a recent business trip. The atmosphere and location are great. The service is excellent, being both discreet and attentive. The wine recommendations were most welcome; excellent English spoken! The food is all that you might hope for from a small Parisien bistro: great tasty food at a reasonable price.
