I can't rave how much I enjoyed the food at this restaurant. I have gone twice already within one week, and during both instances, the food was both dairy and filling! The waitress and owner were both very kind and welcoming making the experience much more enjoyable. I recommend trying the tortellini with chicken and marscapone cream sauce! Would definitely... We were looking for a change from French food for a night, and Il Faniente did not disappoint. Warm delicious bread, generous portions, reasonable prices. We went back again before we left. Tortellini in a gorgonzola sauce with meatballs? Nothing wrong with that! Excellent service as well.

You should try this little Italian restaurant if you stay around the Port d' Orleans metro station area. The food is excellent with large portions. Highly recommend !!!

I stayed 4 nights in Paris and after the 1st dinner on the 2nd night I went back a 2nd time on the 4th evening. Isn't that the best proof that near the Porte d'Orleans there's probably no better choice than this one. You will for sure love all his pastas presented in marmites. The 1st evening I had "Filet... Good thing trip advisor, leads you to little finds that otherwise you would miss. Great for VEGETARIANS! When I bring my veggie wife to paris one day I will bring her here. Not being veggie myself I had the tagliatelle with scollops, gambas and cod in a garlic cream and parsley sauce. I didn't need a starter or desert as... More

Upon arrival, the Italian looked very small and quiet, we were a little unsure at first. The waiter who welcomed us was very friendly and tried to help by speaking in English for us as our French is quiet bad. The menu is quite limited, but the food was beautiful! I would definitely recommend not eating a lot during if... More

When there is some much folkloristic [--] food in Paris, it is better to spend some more money and eat a-la-maniere of the Italians. A wonderful restau in Montparnasse, with a funny waiter, serving large portions. The Antipasti resemble a big meal and the pasta is fresh with lots of interesting combinations. I'd really like to visit that again next... More

We went for a team dinner and we had the nicest surprise. This restaurant does not look great from outside but the food is unbelievable. We all chose the Truffle pasta casserole. A lot to eat but for 19 Euros the quality is great. For 10 people we were really well taken care of and enjoyed the waiter sense of... More
