Look past the pizza sign and you find a pearl

This little restaurant sits just off the top of Montmartre, just across from the larger and more renown Consulat. The service is fast and excellent and the food is simple, but astounding. On a Saturday night it can be difficult to get a table, but it is well worth a wait. The only thing that nudges... read more

I don't normally write reviews but feel I have to on this one to stop people making the same mistake as us. We were drawn by the piano at first so went in. Once in, the worst waiter I have ever had sat us down and left us with no menu for 5 minutes. When he returned, he took an... More

We wanted to eat somewhere away from the main square and soon came across this restaurant. We heard the piano, saw pictures on the wall of people who we assumed were French celebrities who had dined there (we later found out we were mistaken - it was the owner) and were greeted by a nice fellow who seemed to be... My partner and I stumbled upon the restaurant having read guide books advising you to eat further away from the central square in Montmartre. Having been in Paris for three days, we had overdosed on bread and were looking for something different! The restaurant had a little hatch on the street selling Crapes. As we wanted to get out of... I cannot count the times I have been here. It saddens me to read the bad reviews. The food here is basic but certainly not bad. As I have said before, there are plenty of places to eat if you earn a lot of money !. Further up the hill in place du tertre...that is where you will really and... More

I was drawn in by the sound of piano and that was about the only thing I liked about the place. The food was terrible and service proudly matched this level. Bread was old and meat was chewy. At the very end waiter took away one Euro more claiming that it was for service which obviously wasn't worth a schilling.

Worst food in my two month trip through the UK, Italy, Spain and France. Wish to God I read reviews beforehand but unfortunately no wi fi whilst visiting Sacre-Coeur, Montmartre. Makes me ask...."does Paris have health inspectors?" THIS RESTAURANT IS A HEALTH TRAP!!! The Minestrone soup tasted like every "leftover and possibly rotten old soup" thrown together with a dash... I have been in Paris now for over 2 months and have never been to such a bad restaurant. It is a tourist trap. We had pizza, since they call themselves pizzeria. The pizzas were really bad. On the menu it said ham and we asked if it was raw ham or cooked and they said raw and then it... More

Staying in Montmartre

Neighborhood Profile
Montmartre
Montmartre is a bustling mix of cultures, colors, and styles which changes from one street to another. Ride the funicular (or, for a real workout, climb the steps) to the sublime Sacré-Coeur (Basilica of the Sacred Heart) with its inspiring view of the city. The church is surrounded by provincial streets and piano bars where tourists, artists, and street entertainers thrive. At the foot of the hill, Boulevard de Clichy features shops not intended for young audiences, while residences are scattered to the north and east. The diverse population includes a large part from the Arab-speaking world, Africa, and Turkey. It’s a corner of Paris full of life and dynamism with charms that can’t be found anywhere else.
