OK for a quick meal but we had better

We stopped here for dinner one night and the food was OK not anything spectacular by any means, but my wife did enjoy the Escargot and I had the goat cheese appetizer. The fish I had was not very warm and was just OK. I can't remember what my wife had to eat but it wasn't all that great either.... read more

We had two of the three coursed menus at 16,5 euros. The soup of the day was a vegetables soup and it didn't taste of anything. I really had to overload it with salt which I usually don't use at all. Also, the soup was way too hot and after 15 minutes it still was. I literally burned my tongue... More

This was the worst meal I had on my holiday in France. We ordered a particular bottle of wine and the head waiter bought over the most expensive type of wine already opened claiming it was better and poured it before we could object. We had the grilled chicken which appeared to be fried, was totally unseasoned and came with... More

This would be one of those restaurants where only a drink to rest your feet while sightseeing and to use the bathroom... I do not recommend you eat here. Salad du chèvre chaud was awful.

Stopped here for a drink with a view (Notre Dame right across the street) before a dinner reservation elsewhere. Ordered a cocktail and the result was absolutely the most disgusting battery acid tasting liquid I've ever had. It was nothing like the menu description so I gently flagged down a waiter and said it wasn't what I ordered and I... More

This was one of the cheaper restaurants on the block. The food was average. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't delicious. A good standard meal that won't knock your socks off, but won't break the bank either. It does have a nice view of Notre Dame though!

As two young travellers on a budget we opted for the set menu options. Both the salmon salad and the goats cheese salad were decent sized portions for a starter. As for mains, the lamb chops were disappointing, lacking in meat but nice tasting. The fish was nice but a few small bones would be the only slight downside. As... More

We ate here for a late dinner. This restaurant has a beautiful view of Notre Dame at night! The food, well....it was sort of "phoned in" if you know what I mean. Give the tourists traditional French foods with little care whatsoever. I had foie gras which was cheesy tasting and off and then a Beef Bourguignon that was like... More

We ate dinner here on a whim and were not disappointed. Was it a 5 star French restaurant? No. But it was still very good. We did the 3 course meal and had the following: Faux Grois, escargot, lamb, salmon, crème brulé, and crêpes Suzette. We had a nice sampling of the menu. Everything we had was good. The service... I made repeat visits to this restaurant not only for the view, but also for the boeuf bourguignon! Great location, friendly staff & good food!

Staying in Odeon / Saint-Michel

Neighborhood Profile
Odeon / Saint-Michel
As the bustling center of entertainment for the residents of the Rive Gauche, the activity at Odéon never stops. Boulevards are lined with traditional cafes, restaurants, and boutique cinemas. The streets surrounding the fountain at Saint-Michel provide eateries from around the world. Lively bars are just next door and the prototypical terraced French brasserie is on every corner. The setting for this area is second to none; the Haussmann-style boulevards are contrasted by monumental architecture and overshadowed by the iconic Notre Dame, all within a moment’s walk from the Seine. This neighborhood's world-famous bookshops, cafés, and streets will not fail to impress you.
