For a tourist...ok

If you are a tourist and say you want to eat in a French restaurant, then this place is OK. If you are looking for a truly French meal, skip it. Service was fine, food was ok, and price was ok.

We had a night-time meal at Le Montebello on the outdoor patio, with a stunning view of the Notre Dame behind us. The set menu was very well-priced, and the total for two people (three courses with wine) was roughly €90, including service. Our waiter was very friendly, and accommodating of my gluten intolerance. The food itself wasn't outstanding, but... More

We chose this restaurant because the food smelled delicious, and it was very good indeed. I had the best ravioli ever, my husband loved the moule frite. The other dishes from the daily menu were ok (chicken and salmon). Very good price for Paris and the view... priceless.

I spent a night with my company on this boat. Nice environment. But average food. Nevertheless the service was ok. And the view ... is unique. Worth a visit

This quaint little restaurant directly opposite the Notre Dame is a hidden gem, we had a nice two-course meal for only 15 euros each and the food was exceptional, the waiters were very attentive and helped me with my French and enjoyed trying to speak English to my girlfriend, the place did feel a little squeezed, tables were very close... we vegetarian. went to see the Notre-Dame on Saturday noon, after that we were looking for place to eat. Montebello gave us the impression of kind staff, while we asked to see the menu for vegetarian meals and explained the reason. though, once we placed our order, things got changed... we got salad with dressing on it, though it doesn't... Ducked into this place to get out of a rain shower, because of a sign for moules and frites. (Mussels and fries) Some of the best we have ever had. But, some of the other plates looked weak as they went by. Give it a try but be careful what you order .

Good was overcooked and tasted microwaved. Looked ok on inside, but avoid it. Tourist trap. Too many wonderful restaurants to eat here

Because of the French national holiday (August 15-Assumption Day), many good restaurants were closed. We were famished and the restaurant we wanted to go to was closed. This place was packed, so we took the plunge. The waiters were great (that's the positive). Very friendly, funny. Once seated, we only heard loud American English spoken throughout the diners. Our meals... More

Attracted by the large crowd we entered however experience was a true disappointment. Croque Hawaii for kid below standard, quite low taste in the pasta, steak not very tasty... Not recommended...

Staying in Odeon / Saint-Michel

Neighborhood Profile
Odeon / Saint-Michel
As the bustling center of entertainment for the residents of the Rive Gauche, the activity at Odéon never stops. Boulevards are lined with traditional cafes, restaurants, and boutique cinemas. The streets surrounding the fountain at Saint-Michel provide eateries from around the world. Lively bars are just next door and the prototypical terraced French brasserie is on every corner. The setting for this area is second to none; the Haussmann-style boulevards are contrasted by monumental architecture and overshadowed by the iconic Notre Dame, all within a moment’s walk from the Seine. This neighborhood's world-famous bookshops, cafés, and streets will not fail to impress you.
