First off I must say that I live across the street but I've been there once and believe me it's a mystake : I should have been there years ago. We ate outside, they have a few tables outside when the weather is sunny and we had the chance to get a table without reservation that night. The wine list... More

First off, I'm going to return to this restaurant. The pasta is amazing though the pizzas are average. The house special of fettuccine in a white cream sauce was the best i've had. The waiters prepare the sauce in front of your table using a hollowed out Parmesan cheese wheel. They scrape some off, pour in some kind of alcohol,... More

You know those Italian restaurants where you feel like you wandered into a big family gathering and by the end of the meal the owner is hugging you goodbye while crying like a baby and making you promise to stay with his family the next time you are in town? This isn't one of those places. Instead, this was the... More

Convenient location, near the Eiffel Tower, with decent, not great Italian food. Nice decor, but our waiter treated us like we didn't belong in HIS restaurant. This was our only experience with poor service on a 14 day trip to France. We won't return to Il Sorrentino. If you want GOOD italian, go somewhere that will make you feel welcome.

We were so impressed on our last visit, we returned this year with our son's family. The 7 of us had a delightful dinner, starting with a nicely-priced bottle of prosecco. As a starter, we shared a couple of antipastis, consisting of the chef's selection of tasty items & wonderful fried calamari. Although the gnocchi saumon fume that we'd been... More

Yes, the food is good (especially the cheese wheel) and yes, the location within walking distance of the Eiffel Tower is terrific. But at what price? After 1 week in Paris with my husband and another couple and after eating lunches and dinners at many restaurants throughout the City, I can honestly say Il Sorrentino was the only place we... More

Go for the excellent Italian food but don't expect to be welcomed with a smile....at least, not if you are a tourist. We were turned away at 6:55pm because our reservation was for 7pm. Seriously, they sent us outside to wait for 5 minutes. An American couple went in before us and when they said they had no reservation, the... More

This is a review long past due. Our family has dined here on numerous occasions over the years because we find the food, the atmosphere and the service incomparable. This is a small family run business under Italian ownership... who speak French of course and a little English. It is known and frequented by the locals in the 7th. The... More

A wonderful intimate spot in the shadow of the Eiffel Tower. The menu is creative and offered many enticing options. The food is just out of this world - and you MUST have the Lemon Risotto and the house special pasta prepared in the cheese wheel. Service can be typical French to foreigners, but show your Italian roots and they... More

With all the rave reviews I was expecting more. The food was ok. Service was less than enthusiastic. Admittedly my French is almost non-existent; however, our server spoke English well, I'm just not certain that he or the establishment particularly want Americans as clientele. He wasn't rude, he just seemed less than enthused for a non-French customer. HINT: Both the... More
