A lively restaurant with younger waitstaff and a simple but interesting menu. We had seared veal with blue cheese sauce, fries, salad and crusty bread. A really yummy combination. Washed down with champagne. A good first night in Paris.

Service in particular was quite friendly and attentive on our three visits this December. Food was a bit above typical cafes. Atmosphere is noisy but a good mix of locals and tourists (certainly not all tourists). Well located for an afternoon at the outdoor tables, or indoors if the weather merits. Note there's a back door onto the alley that... More

After walking along Boulevard Saint-Germaine looking at the various places we wandered into this one and immediately knew it would be great. The atmosphere was buzzy and the staff very welcoming. Despite the place being looking totally full we were taken straight away to a little corner table. Food arrived quickly and with a smile. Good simple food, great drinks,... More

I would classify everything as average here except service which was very pleasant. Average steak ( with sauce from a jar), average to poor chicken and double fried chips that weren't very hot. Generally overpriced. Suggest you try somewhere else. I would have rated poor except we had good service.

After another place - les Papilles - lost our booking, we were sent to the Odeon. When we arrived, it was 8pm on a Saturday and bang in the middle of dinner. But there was hardly any wait time and we were shown promptly to a table. The hustle and bustle of the place gives it atmosphere. It is cosy... More

The wait staff was absolutely delightful. We just came in for drinks and the atmosphere was perfect. The lighting was good and the drinks were strong. We will definitely be back

In Paris for our 25th wedding anniversary, so the restaurant choice for the 'big night' was important. We'd had mixed experiences in the previous evenings and I was keen to avoid 'tourist trap' dazzling lights and standard menus, but amazingly struggled to stumble across something until the Relais saved the day. It's actually a prominent corner cafe as well, but... More

We chosed a table outside. We ordered grilled salmon and entrecôte bearnaise. Both were delicious. I also liked very much the <cappuccino de homard> It was the best presentasion of this soup I have ever seen.

A nice and cosy restaurant in Germain des pres. Good food, fine wines. Talented waiters! Have eaten there for some times, and has never been dissapointed. Try the cheeseburger. And the baby nems for a starter. Good value for money!

Neighborhood Profile
Odeon / Saint-Michel
As the bustling center of entertainment for the residents of the Rive Gauche, the activity at Odéon never stops. Boulevards are lined with traditional cafes, restaurants, and boutique cinemas. The streets surrounding the fountain at Saint-Michel provide eateries from around the world. Lively bars are just next door and the prototypical terraced French brasserie is on every corner. The setting for this area is second to none; the Haussmann-style boulevards are contrasted by monumental architecture and overshadowed by the iconic Notre Dame, all within a moment’s walk from the Seine. This neighborhood's world-famous bookshops, cafés, and streets will not fail to impress you.
