Pavement Restaurant

The restaurant is extremmely small, so you will probably eat on the pavement at any time of the year. In winter it is covered and well heated. However, when it is raining, the water seeps in at ground level. Service is good and the staff speak very good English. Welcoming and friendly with good... read more

Un service au lance-pierre, désagréable et impoli. Un responsable vraiment pas commerçant qui refuse de répondre des erreurs de ses employés. Je n'y retournerai pas. Staff really not nice, super fast and not polite. The bartender is not even recognizing any of its employees' mistakes and looks only after you money. NEVER AGAIN!

A bustling little tavern, with good quality food at a reasonable price, and friendly staff. The escargot was good, an the tartare adequate.

Mix of locals and tourists in an authentic with a traditional menu offering for reasonable prices. Great for evening drinks and an excellent happy hour - recommended

I called in here to drink some wine and get warmed up. I was with friends and although it was a friendly place, I tried two of their red wines and I wasn't impressed. I will not be returning.

Just happened to stroll into the restaurant and have been back twice already! It's not just that we hadthe best onion soup and mixed plate of cheese and meats ever....... It's also that the owner and his coworkers are warm, fun , and friendly. We sat at the bar while most sit at the tables. Either place one feels at... More

Every time we are in Paris we seek out this restaurant whether it's for lunch or dinner. Great atmosphere and staff. Food is simple but delicious. Good value too. Try the cote de boeuf for a real treat.

We visited here on our last night in Paris, and it was a great way to finish our trip. All three entrees (lamb skewers, a burger and Tandoori Chicken) were excellent. These were accompanied by cold draft beer. We finished the meal with wonderful crepes. The service was good but a bit slow.

Staying in Les Halles

Neighborhood Profile
Les Halles
Historically the central iron-clad market of Paris, Les Halles has evolved architecturally since then but the pulsating energy has stayed the same. Now it houses the main shopping mall, which nestles underground surrounded by fast-food take-aways and international restaurants coupled with beautiful churches and the old commodity exchange. Parallel to it are the high-street stores of Rue de Rivoli and just parallel to that the Seine. The area bustles with faces from all continents and all ages at all times of the day. If enjoying high-street shopping with easy access to fast eateries and lively bars is on your agenda, this is the place to go.
