I suggest to take to chef's surprise menu. 34€ for a lot of small dishes (forgot to count :)). All in a typical french atmosphere. Be there on time because they don't take reservations. If you have to wait, you can always have a glass by the bar.

14th arrondissement is not a tourist area, so when you discover a popular restaurant for the local Parisiens, it should be excellent! And indeed, the receptionist of the Fred Hotel (I recommend) advised me this little gem on a street corner. At 8pm some people are waiting for a table at the bar, but service is excellent so you don't... More

It is hard for people like me, who speak only the basic of French, to communicate with people working in a place like this. What I mean, is that when I asked for a menu in English, I got a rather impolite reply from the owner that i was in Paris (like I didn't know it), which is in France... More

Passed by as recommended from the nearby hotel. From the outside you could se that this was good. Had to wait a little to get a table on a Wednesday evening in November. The staff enjoyed their work. The food was simple, but extremely tasty and well prepared. The menu is written on the blackboard and you choose from there.... More

Good service, delicious food and reasonable price! Me and my mom were so pleased. Be sure to be there at 7 pm to get a table, at 8 it's full and people are queuing!

The staff were very helpful, the food was amazing, the wine was lovely, the atmosphere was lively and friendly. All this for a very reasonable price. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Paris.

Last year whilst holidaying in Paris we went here twice. Pleased to say the high standards are still maintained and we visited La Cantine twice again. Fortunately we know the drill that if you get there around 7pm you should get a table. Leave it till 8 and you'll be queuing as reservations are not accepted. The menu, which constantly... More

We had a great evening here, started with Razor clams between us, which were divine, then for our main meal I had the Calves liver and mashed potato, whilst other guest had homemade Boudin noir(Black Pudding) which he kindly let me try some, superb melted in the mouth just like my Liver!! Menu in French, but waiter kindly spoke little... More

Staying in 15th and after a long and tiring day travelling, my wife and I decided to eat close to the hotel and were we very pleased we did. We met some really friendly French guys in a bar who took us to La Cantine as they knew the owner, a celebrated TV chef, Christian Etchebest. The food, service, atmosphere... More

Great, atmospheric place! Warm, intimate ambiance. Extremely friendly, knowledgeable, helpful staff. They knew their menu and their wine list. Both lists offered great value. Very popular, many French speaking, neighbourhood clients there. One of the most relaxed restaurant we visited, yet with EXCELLENT service. The menu, cooking + presentation were all excellent! Have already recommended it to friends visiting Paris.
