Up and coming

We went to the restaurant in the rue Daguerre, 89, in Montparnasse. It was busy, quite small and you can't book. In fact there isn't a phone number. However a friendly waitress found us a place on a long table with some others. Although this is quite a well known place there were only a couple of... read more

I am purely rating this restaurant on three basis- food, value and service. I was staying in a nearby hotel and this was recommended as the best French restaurant in the area. The restaurant was very busy and had a long waiting time, so booking should be made in advance. Staff were helpful and spoke good English. So no problems... More

I won't go back to la cantine du troquet. The food is extremely disappointing especially coming from chef Christian Etchebest.

Our hotel concierge said my husband, son and I “had to try this restaurant.” We couldn’t have been happier that we took his advice! It was so outstanding that we returned for dinner again before we left Paris. Everything from the appetizers of clams, shrimp and pumpkin soup to entrees of salmon, beef and pork chops was delicious. And the... More

If you are looking for a nice french restaurant, with really good food, good service, good wine, nice ambience plus not extremely high prices, this is the place.

Just eat here, you won't regret it! The space here is limited. It is a little inconvenient that they don't have a menu and it's just written in chalk on the board above where people are sitting. Besides that fact, I loved everything about this place. I started off with pumpkin zucchini soup.. Which was amazing! It had cheese, onion,... More

On our way back from the city centre, we happened to chance upon this little establishment. Our hotel concierge even recommended this place so we thought why not head in. He said it has been recommended by the Michelin guides and trip advisor, so it was a sure win. The restaurant was a "Menu de Jour" type restaurant where the... More

I dined here one the recommendation of the staff from my hotel that was located just down the street on my one night in Paris. While I had to wait a little while for a table (a clear sign of the restaurant's popularity), it was worthwhile as I enjoyed a lovely meal, served by friendly and knowledgeable staff.

We stopped at this little bistro for a late snack after the opera. The food was quite passable and the service was good. My only negative comment is that you must sit at the back of the place to avoid the stench of the cigarettes being smoked on the sidewalk in front.
