Small cosy restaurant on a very quiet square (place Dauphine) at the north end of Ile de la Cite. Booked on-line for late birthday meal with wife and two grown up sons. We booked on-line and our table awaited and we were delighted by the standard of food both in taste and presentation. The starters were delightful but the mains... More

After a morning at St Chapelle and the always-frascinating Conciergerie, stroll along the river to this tucked away restaurant and soak in the charming setting and peace and quiet. You are so close to the left-or-right-bank melee, but a world away. There are 3 restaurants in the Place Dauphine, and if you choose La Rose, you will be so happy.... More

Don't bother booking a table through the online reservation system, it doesn't count unless you call the restaurant before 3pm and confirm the reservation on the phone. We found out the hard way by thinking our reservation was all set, spending the day at the Louvre on one of its late closing days, and getting to the restaurant at 10pm... More

There we were wandering around Place Dauphine and La Rose caught our eye. We were delighted with the ambiance and selected a table outside, overlooking the square. I was delighted with the Cochon de Huit Heures and my partner's Risotto aux Gambas was flavoursome. Our host was very attentive and friendly. Definitely worth the visit so we came back again... This was recommended by our hotel. A very small place, we got the last table. I had the lamb shank, which melts in your mouth. We also loved the soup "flight", a trio of onion, seafood bisque, and vegetable soups. The owner, Rose, is a very nice lady, who clearly takes pride in her establishment. Probably one of the best... At the tip of ILe de la Cite, by Pont Neuf is a terrific restaurant, La Rose de France in Place Dauphine. I loved my first meal so much, I went back a few nights later and it was delicious also. The owner, Rose, is friendly, warm and accommodating. She and her staff speak enough English to be helpful and... More

Great little restaurant away from the madding crowds but in the heart of Paris......tasteful interiors, great service and food was absolutely delicious. So good in fact I went back twice for food and once for a warming hot chocolate sipped under their cosy heated terrace which was fab for watching the world go by. Good choice fixed menu and specials,... More

Lovely lunch, we had the jour de plat, my husband had sea bream and I had a mushroom risotto. Both very tasty and well cooked. The cafe du gourmand was a surprise as we didn't know what it involved, very tasty.
