After wandering from the Marais, over Ile St Louis and on to Ile de la Cite I was in need of lunch - somewhere preferably warm and cosy. La Rose de France is located in the pretty and quiet Place Dauphine and the restaurant was basked in sunshine. The waitresses welcomed me in out of the cold and and I... More

Out for a walk after the rugby and came across the restaurant in a beautiful square on the Ile de Cite. Three of us had the fish soup to start which was fantastic as was the Rosemary infused smoked salmon. Risotto, pork and duck for mains resulted in a second bottle of wine before finishing with apple cake and crime... More

This is one of my favorite "go to" restaurants in Paris, and it is right on Place de Dauphine on the isle de Cité Such a beautiful setting. The food is great and the service is wonderful. Lovely at night.

The place was so cute that we decided to book for Christmas´dinner, and it was a real success. Excellent and very polite service, very very very good food and acceptable prices, giving a high value for money. Ideally located within the Isle de la Cité, at walking distance from Nôtre Dame, surrounded by the Seine and in an very charming... More

Hidden away in the ancient Place Dauphine is this wonderful, sophisticated restaurant with a gastronomic menu. Great wine list. We had a romantic dinner. Moderate prices.

We have an apartment on the island and are regulars here since the food is consistently excellent. Surprisingly for France, the restaurant is also open every night and for 3 meals a day. It's also a bit easier to get a table since most Parisians let alone tourists are not really familiar with the Place, making it somewhat "undiscovered." If... More

Small cosy restaurant on a very quiet square (place Dauphine) at the north end of Ile de la Cite. Booked on-line for late birthday meal with wife and two grown up sons. We booked on-line and our table awaited and we were delighted by the standard of food both in taste and presentation. The starters were delightful but the mains... More

After a morning at St Chapelle and the always-frascinating Conciergerie, stroll along the river to this tucked away restaurant and soak in the charming setting and peace and quiet. You are so close to the left-or-right-bank melee, but a world away. There are 3 restaurants in the Place Dauphine, and if you choose La Rose, you will be so happy.... More

Neighborhood Profile
Ile de la Cite / Ile Saint-Louis
Two islands sit in the middle of the Seine at the very heart of Paris. The more majestic one, Ile de la Cité, sparkles with history. This is the birthplace of Paris, the home of the Gothic Sainte-Chapelle, and the site of the prison where Marie Antoinette was held before her execution. Tourists flock to see the iconic Notre Dame and the beautiful bridges that straddle the Seine. Ile Saint-Louis, the more provincial island, welcomes you with cozy traditional eateries, small boutiques, and what some people say is the best ice cream in the city. This is essential Paris from its very beginnings to its modern appeal.
