Nice Resturant

For how expensive things are in Paris, this resturant was pretty well priced for a more upscale place to eat. The service was good, no issues there. I had the lamb and it was very good. However everything else on the menu did not really catch me eye, and for this I would most likely not go back... read more

We arrived at Gare de Lyon on the TGV from Geneva and headed straight for the legendary Le Train Bleu inside the station. My mother was in a wheel chair and after an unsuccessful attempt to use the elevator to get into the restaurant (it was out of order) I walked up the (extensive!) staircase and sought help from the... My wife and I dined here and thoroughly enjoyed it. The restaurant is beautiful and full of historic charm and the food was incredible and well presented. The food is a little bit pricey but worth it! We'll be back.

All starts from the arrival in the magic and spectacular room - Wouahhh effect. Efficient welcome and promptly seated. Nice menu with rather classic selection - Nice wine list from affordable to grand cru. Overall excellent - As a bit everywhere in Paris I found waiter not so skilled (especially for this kind of restaurant) but the managers were there... More

In some ways this type of place is what makes Paris such fun. It is a grand, ornate, historic place. Thank goodness they didn't tear it down in some 50s remodel. The food is good and even fast if necessary, although we once almost missed the TGV to Geneva when I insisted on crepes suzette for a lunch dessert If... More

Read about this in Rick Steves Paris/France book. A classic old style restaurant with very comfortable seating and heavily painted and ornate ceilings; Things to note - There is a lift/elevator through it's own door outside the train station, door is just to the right of the left door; beats dragging bags up the dual stairs in the station; This... The place is certainly worth to pay a visit. Fresco ceilings and truly well trained waiters that move incredible amounts of dishes with just one hand. That is on the positive side. The cons for the place are the long lasting waiting between the courses and, with exceptions like the foie and the cheese, fair quality of food.

We had booked lunch for 12.30, expecting to arrive at Gare du Nord on Eurostar at 11.50. However, we were half-an-hour late and the queue for a taxi at Gare du Nord was horrendous. We finally arrived at Gare de Lyon and Le Train Bleu at approximately 13.10, and our next train was due to leave at 14.25. We were... More

Wonderful decor, equalled only by the food, wine and service. Pity about the renovation of the loos. They've lost their 'charm' and are now rather ordinary.
