On our trip to mutiple countries in Europe we had to take a Day in Paris. Since we were using trains to tour, one of my friends recommended this restaurant as we could catch the late train to Switzerland. I am so glad we went, very nastalgic, so beautiful inside and just took you back in time. Everywhere you looked... More

Service was excellent as was the food. When we arrived we were immediately taken to a table. Extremely clean, once we were seated, I was able to view in details the murals. Very rich and quite opulent early twentieth century, a lovely place to visit. Food was enough but not too much and the quality was undeniable. Company was good... More

Just reopened in time for us to hsve a beautiful lunch before catching the Eurostar home. Food and service were excellent but let's be honest you aren't here for that you come for the surroundings, the ambience and that ceiling. You know its going to expensive, it is, but it is worth it.

This elegant restaurant is located in the main hall of the Gare du Lyon. When it first opened in 1901, the restaurant was called Buffet de la Gare de Lyon, but in 1963 the owners changed the name to Le Train Bleu  after a famous French luxury night express train. Many artists dined here including Jean Cocteau and Coco Chanel.

Newly renovated, Le Train Bleu just reopened so having some having a business meeting in the vicinity was a great excuse to pop in for a quick business lunch. I had the Tartare - and it was one of the few ones in Paris which not only was succulent and tasty, the spice level was well adjusted by a caring... More

It's a lovely room, but the day I lunched there I shared it with a mouse and at least two cockroaches which wandered around the carpet - and the food was not great.

I have always found this beautiful ornate restaurant an essential stop before the TGV.An elegant relic of the past glories of Paris. Food and service outstanding and the waiters can get a move on if time is short.Admire the decor and the artwork of that fabulous ceiling .Beats Paddington

We went to this reataurant with friends in January 2014. Most of us had been there before and were expwecting good food and wine. About a decade years ago FT had written a review of this place and we went to confirm that it was really an excellent place and good value. Quite a disappointment this time. The starter was... More

Before air transport and compulsory vacations for workers became common place, the train reigned, and it was for the rich. In Paris, train stations like Gare Saint Lazare catered for those vacationing in Deauville, Gare de Lyon catered for those going to the Mediterranean. And trains were the only means at the time to bring fresh produces from the provinces.... More
