Fun place to be

As I am only come to visit Paris occasionally I couldn't get the reservation at Guilo Guilo for so many times (if you want a table, should be done much prior to visit). This restaurant offers 24 covers per sitting, in a nondescript side street in the 18th district in Paris. We arrived early (8:00PM), while the chefs were still preparing the set courses for the meal. We were thus able to watch the artistry and craft as each dish was being prepared. They offer a set menu which changes each month. Each... More

I went there after having heard a lot of positive reviews from friends, and I still was amazed. The food is delicious and surprising. There is one single menu comprising about a dozen small plates, each prepared right in front of you by the Japanese chef and its aides. This makes for an unforgettable experience, every meal is a new... More

There are tables in the back but we were sitting rather comfortably at the bar around the smallish cooking area so that you get to see the food preparation in addition to tasting it. It looked like everyone around us was on the same tempo: as a particular dish was prepared in front of us, it is prettily arranged in... More

Note that there is no food menu per se, it is a set ten course meal. I wasn't aware of this, but we got there and thought why not! The food was interesting - it was new, and out of our comfort zones. However, the tastes were nice and the presentation of the food was exquisite. The service was very... More

My partner and I were on our culinary adventure in Paris last September. We booked a lot of star-rated places but our dining experience only took a major turn with Guilo-Guilo. I hadn't known what to anticipate nor did I consider Guilo-Guilo for reservation to begin with as it had no Michelin stars and the reviews were mixed. But I... More

Who knew a little restaurant bar located in the narrow streets of Montmartre could give us such a memorable experience! We booked months in advance after reading online reviews. The degustation menu was mind-blowing! Fresh, high quality produce, expertly prepared. Watching the chefs work within that small space and create everything right in front of u also builds on the... By preparing our trip to Paris and planning our first afternoon in the neighborhood of Montmartre, we accidentally stumbled upon this restaurant. We were very lucky to be able to get a reservation at Guilo Guilo for 4 days later and it was necessary to re-confirm the reservation by SMS text the day before, all with very defined rules. We... Fooding?? Jogging?? Sleeping?? This "-ing'ed" it for sure! Menu changes once amonth. Almost sad because this meal was extraordinary! Setting for around 20, early dinner ( 7 pm or 9 pm). One of the best Japanese meals that I have had;

I went here on several occasions with either my boyfriend and had an amazing experience everytime I ate here. Sitting around a bar with the kitchen in the middle you will observe a fascinating ballet of 5-6 chiefs preparing an 8-course meal with lots of unique japanese delicatessen with a french touch. The atmosphere is cosy and fits in well... More

Staying in Montmartre

Neighborhood Profile
Montmartre
Montmartre is a bustling mix of cultures, colors, and styles which changes from one street to another. Ride the funicular (or, for a real workout, climb the steps) to the sublime Sacré-Coeur (Basilica of the Sacred Heart) with its inspiring view of the city. The church is surrounded by provincial streets and piano bars where tourists, artists, and street entertainers thrive. At the foot of the hill, Boulevard de Clichy features shops not intended for young audiences, while residences are scattered to the north and east. The diverse population includes a large part from the Arab-speaking world, Africa, and Turkey. It’s a corner of Paris full of life and dynamism with charms that can’t be found anywhere else.
