Good food, great ambiance and very pleasant staff. If you are looking for that small Parisian bistro experience have dinner here, they are specialized in foie gras (I skipped it) but there is plenty of other choice. We had the cote de boeuf which was perfect. The wine choices are also plenty and above all good, St Emilion Grand Cru... More

We stopped off here for a "snack" on the recommendation of a friend. We had foie gras with toast, escargot, and french onion soup. My wife LOVED the french onion soup, and everything else tasted great. We sat outside since we didn't want to disrupt people with our 10-month old baby. We had a good time here, and would definitely... More

Food was good and service was good, however, there are no du jour menus or set meals during dinner (they do have a lunch deal though) and overall we felt like it was pricey. My husband did like his duck stew though.

Quite possibly the best french cuisine I have tried in Paris. It's situated in the unassuming but beautiful add on to a meat and spices shop front. There are only about 10 tables, but making reservations was painless, even in August. I had the pan fried foie gras, a non-traditional take on a classic dish. I wanted to hug the... More

We (a party of 3) reserved for dinner at the Comptoir because we had stumbled into their beautiful shop a few days earlier, full of French delights like boudins, foie gras, magret de canard etc. The assiette de foie gras mi-cuit was excellent, however the slice was rather thin. The list of main courses in the menu was short, we... More

I love my Foie Gras and I had the Escalope- sauted and served warm over toast and a thin slice of Apple - yum! It was a very generous serving- it was all I needed for lunch- I personally don't like sweet wine so I had a Sancerre. François had thé raviolies de fois gras and would also recommend it-... More

We just passed this place and gave it a try and it was really one of our best experience in Paris. The food is locally made and very authentic. The atmosphere is brilliant.

We came for lunch on our first day in Paris. It was wonderful! The restaurant wasn't full nor bustling, which suited us perfectly. The seared foiegras was delectable, especially the toasted gingerbread it was nestled on. It was a tad bit sinewy which threw me off slightly, but I guess it was fine. The foiegras ravioli with truffle oil was,... More

We had the two best dinners of our vacation at Comptoir two years ago, and made a point of stopping in Paris for a night this summer in part to revisit the restaurant. The excitement we experienced two years ago was gone. We found the foie gras ravioli and the pan-seared foie gras (both of which we had devoured, wide-eyed... More

Dear Mrs or Sir, We are sorry that you were such desapointed ! However, we didn't change the Chef since the last two years... It was probably an error of time cooking because the foie gras is the same and our productor is very serious. If you want to try again, we will be pleased to welcome you and offer... More

We decided to have dinner here after reading the reviews. Big mistake! While chewing on the foie gras ravioli my wife choked on a small twisted piece of metal that was inside the pasta. After bringing this to the waitresses attention and showing her the shard we didn't even receive as much as an apology. To be honest, it looked... More
