Busy French Bistro that was able to squeeze us in on a busy Monday night. We selected two mains - Magret de Carnard which was flavoursome, but the duck was a little tough €17. Also, the Parmentier Confit Carnard, a Shepards Duck pie - tasty with a lot of mash €14. Wine by the glass selection a little limited, and... More

My wife had the french onion soup and I had the foie gras ravioli. The onion soup was very nice and the foie gras ravioli is one of the best dishes I have ever had. The weather was perfect (68 F, sorry this is not something to order off the menu) and we sat outside. That's what you are supposed... More

What a wonderful surprise to enjoy such a lovely meal in a beautiful setting during our last evening in Paris. Our extended family Stevenson's & Burke/Moore duo walked from our village apartment & found what my daughter called "a vacation for her pallet". I recommend to all!

If you're looking for great food without the pretense...this is the place. I ordered the charcuterie platter as my appetizer which consisted of ham, sausage, pates etc. (easily enough for two people to share) followed by the duck breast which was wonderful. My husband started with the snails followed by the cassoulet. Everything was fresh and delicious. Portions are extremely... More

Standard French food faire, but all items looked good and tasted better. Foie gras, duck l'orange, even the onion soup. No complaints at all. Service is great and price also very reasonable.

I had some of the most fresh and fantastic tasting food here. As a group of four friends, we stopped here for a light lunch, which ended up instead being an amazing two hour meal. I had the sea bass with an asparagus risotto and I must say that the fish was just melting in my mouth. And the sauce... More

We had heard about this little find in Paris and the reviews do not lie at all, we had arranged a table for a light lunch which in the end took 3 hours after ordering one dish after the other. Their foie gras is of a absolute amazing quality and served with the most delicious chutney made of apples, onions... More

Beautiful and historical place, a true french gastronomie! I had the pleasure to try their typical foie gras composition served with toasted bread, chutney and this wavy slices of foie gras topped with salt, pepper, honey and balsamic vinegar. SO GOOD! If you like foie gras this place is a must!

Staying in Les Halles

Neighborhood Profile
Les Halles
Historically the central iron-clad market of Paris, Les Halles has evolved architecturally since then but the pulsating energy has stayed the same. Now it houses the main shopping mall, which nestles underground surrounded by fast-food take-aways and international restaurants coupled with beautiful churches and the old commodity exchange. Parallel to it are the high-street stores of Rue de Rivoli and just parallel to that the Seine. The area bustles with faces from all continents and all ages at all times of the day. If enjoying high-street shopping with easy access to fast eateries and lively bars is on your agenda, this is the place to go.
