Duck confit to die for

We went here for lunch because my traveling companion wanted to try confit de canard . We were not disappointed. Crispy skinned tender succulent duck on top of perfect fried potatoes with garlic. And a nice little salad. All for 13,90. I had a salad with shrimp, crevettes and smoked salmon. It was... read more

Just had lunch here. My wife had lobster salad and I had the Chicken salad. Both meals were served quickly, looked beautiful in the bowl, tasted wonderful, and were extremely good value for the Euros we spent. The drinks menu was great. I had a Grimbergen beer in a beautiful glass goblet. The beer was right on my palate The... More

My friend and I visited this tasty restaurant on her recommendation as she remembered the good food and friendly service from a trip she took here 5 years ago. We were not disappointed! The Parisian burgers, fries, and salad dinner were tasty and the chocolate mousse was delicious!! The waiter and other staff were so friendly and attentive, even checking... More

Called in here on the off chance after walking in the area. Very nice , relaxed atmosphere with kind and gracious service. We lingered over a long meal with nice wine. Bavette steak well cooked with fine frites. I'd definitely return. Made for a relaxed enjoyable evening which is what I want from a bistro.

A good welcome, a simple environment, spacious enough, music ok and not too loud. The service is really pleasant, accomodating my franglais and exhaustion at the end of the 6th day in Paris, explained the menu well and was able to clarify when I had questions about a dessert. The poulet fermier was gorgeous, the frittes where fine and the... More

Great, authentic Parisien food. Great location on the corner or Rue Monge in the latin quarter. The salads are huge and the coffee (une expresso) - est fantastique. You won't find many english speakers here - its all local clientele, which is what makes it great. For a real french experience, and a fantastic cafe that could become your 'local',... More

We ate here first couple of hours on arriving in Paris. We both had chicken club sandwiches and they were served with the best frites we've had during our week long stay. Sandwich was huge and tasty. Quite reasonable at under 15€ each including our drinks. Wait staff attentive, friendly and service was quick from time of ordering. Well deserving... More

You know it must be ok when they line out the doors for lunch & dinner every day of the week!! The burgers were the best I have had in Paris! Not too big but a lot of flavour. The chocolate milk shake was the type I have never drunk before but it was sooo good! Guess it is all... More

Staying in Quartier Latin

Neighborhood Profile
Quartier Latin
The Latin Quarter bursts with intellectual life, architectural splendor and ongoing merriment. The small streets are filled with classical buildings, student bars and lively eateries while the squares are dominated by historic monuments. The area is defined by the 800-year-old Sorbonne University, where Latin once prevailed, and is famous for the Pantheon which celebrates the great men and women of France. During the day students rush from classes to the library and intellectuals people watch from the terraced cafés. As night time falls the surrounding establishments fill up and the merriment really begins. The liveliest parts are around Rue Mouffetard, lined with crêperies and international street food eateries, and Place de la Contrescarpe characterised by terraced brasseries, this neighborhood provides real nourishment for the mind, belly, and soul.
