If you are looking for a typical Parisian place where waiters can be impolite and obnoxious, this is the place. For good food and good wine, you have plenty other places to spend your money. Cheers!

Loved Les Philosophes. We had the Beef Bourguignon and the Fish of the day. Huge portions, wonderful taste, good service, great wine. Highly recommend!

We had lunch at this cool Le Marais eaterie on a Saturday afternoon. This place is in the heart of the trendy Le Marais district of Paris a stone's throw from the Pompidou Centre. There were tables outside congested with cool Parisian's being Parisian and meeting up with friends. We are inside. It has a buzz and is clearly popular... More

We were in the Marais recently and Les Philosophes was recommended as a good lunch spot. Great location in busy pedestrian street.....great people watching from the sidewalk table.....sublime salmon tartare salad with a glass of Chablis. Efficient service by cute staff.... We'd go back

Plenty of room on this charming corner to get a seat outside, they do have headlamps in winter! I was surprised how good the chai was! Very very good Chai tea latte! I had the French onion soup, very good, my friend had the plat du jour, which was a generous plate of lamb with cous cous. Very good service,... More

Eating in the Marais can be hard, given the crowds and what not. There is always a line at this place, but they somehow manage to seat you fairly quickly and feed you well. It has a great feel, and the food and wine are both fairly priced and excellent. It's the kind of place that seems to make even... More

recommended by out hotel, but will not return. The restaurant makes its reputation on ethically sourced food, so we were looking forward to the visit. Our beef bourguignon was tough, and our chicken mediocre. But the service did not make us feel welcomed. The three tables near us were people from the US, England, and China. The waiter treated all... More

Among the most underrated bistros in town, this place is always good to very good, and always a great value. Authentic Marais eatery; go with confidence as we have for years.

We loved sitting right on the street and the service was the best we experienced anywhere in Europe. It gets crowded so make a reservation. Food was quite good but not memorable. A fun place.

Even on a chill Sunday evening in October the rue Vieille du Temple is thronged with people and long queues outside the falafel outlets so les Philosophes is a good spot to sit outside with a drink and watch the world go by. Our waiter was very pleasant and attentive and we got none of the arrogance towards tourists that... More
