This place offers a great lunch menu. The food is imaginative, delicious and served on beautiful plates. We had a deep-fried mushroom ravioli with a mushroom cream sauce (in a totally different flavour) as a starter, followed by salmon tartare on potatoes with a lentil soup/sauce. Dessert was a pistacchio cake base with peach cream and tonka bean flavoured ice... More

Each of our courses really pushed the boundaries - from snails and filo to tuna tartare with cabbage and noodles. Delicious and light with lively service. We had no trouble understanding our lovely waiter and she had no trouble understanding us - we were able to choose terrific experimental food with no trouble. We asked for advice with our wine... Was looking forward to this. A tiny jam packed place with good atmosphere, completely let down by the food. Every dish was completely unseasoned and bland. Couldn't finish any dish. Couldn't understand any dish! Foam on everything doesn't equal flare or taste. Nothing blended, I think they are artists not chefs. Melbourne far outweighs this place at even the most... More

We visited monjul last year and had an excellent meal so decided to try it again this year. Once again the food was delicious, my main of smoked fillet of beef was terrific. Our waitress was very helpful and spoke excellent English, she described all the aspects of each course wonderfully. You get 3 courses for €35 which we thought... More

I am interested in creative cuisine, but i find Italian creative kitchens, which tend to build upon tradition, generally more successful than French ones, which seem obsessed with being revolutionary and breaking with tradition. In this respect, Monjul is quite typical. Its "creative" dishes simply don't taste very good and make little sense. For example, what on earth is accomplished... More

Our lunch was definitely a " wow". What you get for lunch is what the kitchen decides to serve that day. We read the menu for lunch and knew we liked everything on it but had no idea what we would be presented with. It takes a very creative cook to come up with these combinations and have them not... We came here for lunch. The set menu was great value, and the service from our single waitress was flawless. They served fusion food that was tasty and fun, it was definitely the best meal we had in Paris. Would definitely recommend and come back again!

Only one lunch menu - and it's whatever that's fresh that day. We had a superb prawn and mango salad but the accompanying sweet potato maki was definitely a let down - rice tasted like it was cooked overnight and left in the fridge - dry! Main was some kind of beef layer pie like thing. Delicious. Dessert was definitely... More

Lovely place, waiters are very nice, present but discreet. And food and presentation are amazing. I highly recommend that if you like new sensations, tastes and ideas. Truly the nicest culinary experience I've had in Paris for that kind of cooking.

Neighborhood Profile
Le Marais
The Marais is a winding maze of multi-faceted streets that beg to be explored. It bursts with small boutiques, historic buildings, cozy traditional restaurants, and hidden parks. Around each corner, you'll come across little gems of architecture spanning the centuries, from understated medieval towers to classical libraries and 17th century splendor. This neighborhood unites a rich mix of people of all ages, but it's best known for the gay scene mostly in the south and the Jewish community around Rue des Rosiers.
