The owners of our hotel recommended Monjul, saying that it's their favourite place to eat. We booked for our last evening in Paris and were not disappointed. It was full with a lovely atmosphere. A local clientele dressed up smartly in pursuit of a different food experience. All dishes were visual art. Beautifully crafted and complimented by clever taste combinations.... More

We were staying in Le Marais we did not have a clue where to eat after being shafted by a couple of french restaurants in other areas of paris that were overpriced and underwhelming. We settled on not going far from our apartment, and read the Google reviews of the local restaurants within a block or so. Monjul blew our... More

The menu looked interesting and there were good reviews. We were rewarded. The food was delicious. To start we had the carrot cake and l" escargots..delicious. The Cod " doughnut" was a delicious fish cake like no other and the fusion of flavours was amazing. The dessert we shared the " chocolate" and the macaroon. They were amazing. I will... More

We chose the tasting menu. Very glad we did as each plate packs in the flavours. The atmosphere is relaxed and the service friendly and helpful. We found it very good value for money and highly recommend this small restaurant for a visit.

Well situated in the heart of Le Marais, in an old bakery shop. One menu per day, showing high quality fresh products, prepared by a young creative team. Creative and gustative meals; if you have an intolerance, no worry the menu will be easily adapted for you. I am intolerant to gluten and they did pay attention to the menu... More

We have had a reservation, but left soon after arriving. The place was empty, but they decided to seat us in the back, next to noisy service closet and the kitchen. They've refused to give us another table when we complained. The noise from kitchen machinery was so loud you couldn't hear yourself, so we've left.

Every dish that arrives looks like a work of art. ...Texture, colour, contour and a little theatre. The flavours are there too but the intensity is lacking and the servings are small. Having said this....the service is charming and it is another very popular eatery in the Marais. We all had a very enjoyable evening. My friend thought his dinner... More

I found this restaurant on a French site and had to try it. That was on my last trip to Paris in Fall 2013. I was so impressed with the food, presentation and quality to price that I was compelled to try it again on this trip. I was very pleased. For lunch they only offer a three course "Chef... More

Ideally situated in the heart of the Marais, this restaurant is definitely a lovely place to stop by for a dinner with friends or family for its warm atmosphere and friendly welcome from the staff who knows to be both discreet and obliging. Inventive food on a classics basis.

I love this place! Young, creative and talented chef serving French and international classics with a modern touch. The place is not pretentious and very well situated in the Marais area. It is not cheap but the quality/price ratio is very good. Bon apetit!

Staying in Le Marais

Neighborhood Profile
Le Marais
The Marais is a winding maze of multi-faceted streets that beg to be explored. It bursts with small boutiques, historic buildings, cozy traditional restaurants, and hidden parks. Around each corner, you'll come across little gems of architecture spanning the centuries, from understated medieval towers to classical libraries and 17th century splendor. This neighborhood unites a rich mix of people of all ages, but it's best known for the gay scene mostly in the south and the Jewish community around Rue des Rosiers.
