This restaurant is located an hour drive from Paris nearby the Fontainebleau Castle and forest. Surroundings are a bit suprising for a one star restaurant since it is in a quite plain street a few meters away from a coin laundry. The exterior is pretty plain too but the interior is quite cosy and comfortable with around ten tables at... More

The Chef cooks outstanding. He cares not only about how to make original dishes, but also about taste. and the price is very good, especially compare to the food. For roughly 50 euros you get 4 courses and 4 compliments. definitely it's best restaurant in Fontainebleau. The only thing which can stop L'Axel of getting second Michelin star is service.... More

Well, we all have some memorable restaurant experiences, and this one certainly was for me. I mean, this is just a superb restaurant, with great, attentive, well-paced service. The building and the room do not look like much but there are a lot of thoughtful touches like the decoration and the lighting and the fresh flowers. And then there is... More

We had an enjoyable meal. We weren't sure about the options on the tasting menu initially but enjoyed all four courses and all the other little tasters in between. Wine was good and staff very attentive. A memorable experience.

Our third trip from London to our favourite restaurant. The tasting menu was, as usual, amazing. Staff are first class. My partner arranged for an exotic fruit birthday cake, made from passion fruit, mango and coconut.....extremely light and refreshing. What a lovely surprise when they included the cost in the tasting menu, he had expected to pay an additional cost.... More

My husband and I went to this restaurant based on the reviews of trip advisor. We arrived on a Thursday and tried to book for dinner either on Friday or Saturday. We didn't expect we will be able to get in as the restaurant is small and very popular. We couldn't get a table until Monday. The host is a... More

Excellent french food. The food is delicious and the service is very good. But as almost everything in Paris and Fontainebleau, its a little bit expensive. Expect more than 80 euros/person.

The food was so fresh and skillfully prepared. Wines were superb, even by the glass. Best lobster ever. The service was impeccable and approachable. We came away relaxed and happy.

Fusion of Japanese and French classic cooking with the emphasis on the French part. Restaurant owned and run by French wife Maitre d'hotel and Japanese Husband Chef. Food was excellent and the only ask would be that the chef includes a heavier weight of japanese influence into the cooking. At the moment the influence is very French. If you want... More

A disappointing evening. The restaurant is very sparsely decorated and my husband had to stare at a blank wall from the table we were put at in the corner, next to a door to the wine cave. The atmosphere was not a happy one but rather quite sombre and the young team worked well but erratically and not as you... More
