Went here for a reunion dinner with my class from business school. Had a great evening and the food was really good. Also tried breakfast, but then they had unfortunately run out of bread, which should not be possible.

In a pleasant little square a few hundred meters from the Chateau and the busiest of the restaurants in this location (which is usually a good sign)but the menu was a selection of fairly average "proteins in a sauce with veg". Great welcome from the head waiter but after that the service was not fantastic. I would look for something... More

Check out the different seats to work out within in which cafe you have landed. Le Grand Cafe is different - it offers classic French food and does it well. The service was 'french' but... More

Great location and well shaded, good atmosphere but was quite smoky. Service was lousy, food was average but I guess the location justified the expense. A typical tourist trap in my opinion.

Seems that these size of coffee are normal size for us! :) In Fontainebleau the size for a 'normal' coffee is for us a size for an espresso! Just... More

This is a good traditional french restaurant close to Chateau de Fontainebleau. Good service, and very good ambiance.

We arrived in Fontainebleau hungry but it was 3.30 p.m. I had a fabulous plate of well kept cheeses and small salad and crusty bread - the kitchen had closed and the waitress said that they would make up a plate for me (I am not used to French people being so accommodating) and I loved it. My husband's lemon... More
