In a worm atmosphere, the team of la Petite Ardoise invites you to discover an original and home made cuisine composed of specialties from several regions of France. Our cuisine is also based on chosen and seasonal products. You have the possibility to compose your meal with starters, main courses and desserts or with small dishes (kind of french "tapas").

Good restaurant

This small restaurant offers constantly good food. Happy to have visited again. Located in a small pedestrian street in the center of Fontainebleau. Great value for money.

Had to give it a try since it's rated so highly on here. Was not disappointed. The place was packed so we were lucky to get in for a late lunch. My first time having duck and it was like having filet mignon, almost.. Cooked to perfection, rare. Tiramisu was served a little differently then expected but was fabulous.

Constantly good service and cuisine : ) The lamb is really good, perhaps a few more vegetables ?Maybe lower the lights a little ? The staff are discrete and pleasant. Good wine too.

This small restaurant offers delicious dishes beautifully presented at a reasonable price, and just a short walk from the gardens of the Chateau of Fontainebleau. The decor is rather plain, but the tables are not crowded together and the dishes are small works of art.

We enjoyed our lunch so much that we returned on the following day to try some of the other plates on offer. We were very happy with both of our meals. Service was both professional and friendly. The food was well presented, fresh and delicious. Wine by the glass or by the bottle is reasonably priced. I would highly recommend... More

Loved the town of Fontainebleau! and this little bistro is one of the reasons why. Small plates, fabulous foie gras and escargos, and scallops. Great drinks, a very friendly and accommodating staff and obviously a popular spot with the locals and students from INSEAD.

What an amazing restaurant - my favorite go-to place with friends, family, or to recommend. Products are fresh, price/quality is the best value for money you'll find in Fontainebleau, dishes are scrumptuous and service is always nice. They have a nice selection of wine (served per glass, great for tiny drinkers like me), and their 'oeufs cocottes au fois gras'... More

this great little place is open again after some building works to increase the space and covers. There is an element of fusion food sitting alongside good French classics. Scallop and lamb starters were very good, pork very soft but perhaps could have been more adventurous with more of the background lard et ananas allowed to shine and the chocolate... More

Loved relaxing at Le Petit Ardoise. Always welcoming and always accommodating which is relatively rare in Fontainebleau. If there are scallops on the menu, get them. Always a favorite. But mostly, the service is wonderful.

This small restaurant on a side street not far from the side entrance to Fontainebleau is a real find. The food was excellent. We had all starters with our lunch; exquisite seared fois gras; an order of baked shrimp; and wonderful frogs legs. And the ice cream with dessert was lovely (one scoop chocolate and two scoops vanilla; yum, yum).... More
