The place du marche is possibly the nicest location for a dinner in Bastia. The restaurant is located in the north-east corner, overlooking the plaza. We had asked for a table outside, which is definitely what you should do (the interior looks a little too rustic 80s for my taste). The service was outstanding: attentive when necessary, yet sufficiently subtle... More

The owner's wife imposes her personality on this restaurant and treads a careful line between showing a personal interest in her customers and being overly intrusive. She is proud and passionate about the dishes presented, and rightly so, and takes great trouble to explain in detail what's on offer. I suggest you just go with it and enjoy the experience... More

Small elegant place on the market square, lunch on the terrace or indoors; dinner indoors (focus is on the food). Very friendly staff (owner?) with excellent English who explained all the creative dishes and made a superb wine recommendations. This is on a par with some of our favourite places in Toronto (which is a great food city, so that's... More

We chose this restaurant, on the basis of the Tripadvisor reviews, and were not disappointed. The owner and the waitress were really friendly, and explained the menu in great detail. We had the home made tagliatelle with courgette and prawns - delicious, and the escalope of veal with muscat and prunes, also great. The recommended wine was excellent.

We came with the boat fra Nice, and was recommended this restaurant by our hotel staff. We didn't have any expectations, but the combination of great food and great service was fantastic! The waiter presents the menu on a board, and explains everything you need to know. Our servant was the Chefs wife, Mari(?). She was great, and we felt... More

We love eating. Most of our travelling is concerned with finding the best place to eat, and Grazie Mille is a highlight on an island that is already a Mecca for great food. The portions are generous, the tastes are massive and even the location is great on the old market square. When we're in Bastia, we eat here every... More

We had a great diner and excellent guidance of the patron which told with love for the dishes what to choose and what not. Portions are of... More

We had a wonderful meal at Grazie Mille. Worthy of its number 1 status. Delicious food, nice terrace and fabulous service. We had a cold seafood salad first followed by a delicious calamari pasta, duck and tagliatelle with mushrooms and truffles. The desserts were great. We had a lemon sorbet, the baba au Rhum and a tiramisu. Great wine chosen... More

We ate finely and hugely at Grazie Mille. I imagine that, in the future when we are being very French and discussing past Meals We Have Loved while eating another, we will talk about the pasta with cepe mushrooms and truffles, the Filet de Boeuf with foie gras and figs, the profiterolles au chocolat, mousse au chocolat, and the other...
