Worst service ever: We had to wait for more than 2 hours to get our food. We asked for some bread and olive oil to survive and shared it with other guests that were also starving. Great view outside. If there is no table outside dont bother to go inside. Its not worth it.

We decided to venture up to the Citadel for lunch and fortunately found 'A Casarella'. The restaurant was busy and we were fortunate to get in. The dining area is small, but it felt personal and offers a great view. We enjoyed our dishes which were tasty, well proportioned and priced and based on Corsican cuisine. All staff members were... We were in Bastia for the day and had researched several options for lunch. This was one of them, however my wife and I sort of stumbled upon it after visiting the Musee de Bastia. There were several dining options with a great view, but this one was by far the best. When I realized it was one of the... More

We came to this place feeling lucky to have the terrasse.. We were sitting next to a table reserved for 6. We were 2. It took a very long time to have us given the menu, one for the wine, one for the plates. After a while the table of 6 local people arrived. A fat dirty man who looks... More

What a Beautiful view for a lovely meal! We had a great waiter who was very accommodating. We had very nice meals - the langoustine was yummy. Definitely worth booking as it was extremely busy and many were turned away whilst we were dining.

Today we had lunch at A Casarella and now we are all sick. The view is really amazing but it is a crime to serve such a terrible food. The tuna tartare was everything but fresh, the zucchini were sour. Could we add that the bill was extremely high?

My BEST meal in Corsica! I actually wanted to visit another restaurant but ended up here. Absolutely loved the food! The service was non-intrusive but still attentive/good. If we stayed closer to Bastia, I would have definitely gone back... but my husband said the drive was too far. The view on the tiny terrace was lovely and the gentle breeze... More

Lonely Planet did it again. They recommended A Casarella restaurant in Bastia and we had a great meal. We sat outside beneath the tower of the Citadel with a breathtaking view of the sea. The food and service were excellent. The waiters were friendly and efficient. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone spending time in Bastia.

We had dinner, so the evening on the Citadel was great with special atmosphere. In a good weather it is very pleasant to seat outside. Very good local cooking. I enjoyed the "Crabes Farcis", and the "Cochon Noir Carmelise". Nice wine list. Very friendly service. Very good value.

Absolutely fantastic ... I'm on a diet, but there's no way I could respect it that night !!! 'm English, so the cooking of the meat is particularly painful for people abroad, and my future daughter in law, who's pregnant, can't eat red meat ... perfect cooking !!! The ambiance was perfect ... a balmy evening overlooking the sea ...... More
