It is important to remember that nowadays more than half restaurant do not prepare the food themselves and serve dishes stemming from industrial préparations and limit their job to unfreeze meals. Here, this is a Professional restaurant with traditional quality meals, nicely served in a classical environment. It is better to reserve to be sure to have seats. A place... More

Very centrally located in Troyes, we had two classic 'old french cousine' meat dishes (one veal, one beef): good quality, attention to details, meat well cooked (the beed was perfectly pink), flavorful ingredients. The meal had actually started with an amuse-bouche (radish, beatrout, cucomber), delicate and inspiring. The restaurant has a rather distinctive very french ambience, it's mid-small sized, rather... We had dinner at Au Jardin Gourmand. The food was very good, as was the wine. The owner and waiter were very friendly and helpful and translating parts of the menu if required. The owner also made a good wine recommendation. We were served an 'amuse bouche' of beetroot mouse topped with radish. Starters were very good, as was the... More

Dined here on Saturday evening in August. We were sat in inside the restaurant so never saw the 'jardin'. Food OK, but not the gourmet experience the name might suggest. The service started good, especially from the two young members of staff. The front of house head waiter was less impressive. But once the place became busy the service became... More

The attractive courtyard setting and friendly service from the owner and his young waiter are the positives. The food however did not impress and the set menu at 36euros plus 18euros for 50cl carafe of Cote du Rhone left us disappointed. The duck described as cooked in salt was a tough and tasteless piece of magret with a slice of... More

Sorry but having spent the last 25 years visiting and eating in restaurants all over France this was not our greatest experience. The service from the young waiter was excellent, the wine excellent and fairly priced but the food underwhelming. Only one (36 euro ) menu available in the evening and a limited choice ( only two choices of desserts?... More

Centrally located, the restaurant is well worth visiting. I personally found the service very good, with "the boss" reminding me of an older Andrew Marr. I had Salmon followed by tandoori chicken which was very good and not to be confused with the offerings in the restaurants in Britain. A good selection of wines. Yes, it is not a moderately... More

We were four of us dining at this resto last weekend. As it was Saturday night, no set menus were available. The meal was good, but for some reason we were not served " amuse bouche" , the little free appetizers that everyone else got. My friend thinks it was because we didn't order wine....we were very hot and tired... More

Ate here twice on our visit to Troyes and had great meals on both occasions. Typically French restaurant and one of only 3 in Troyes to have official award for using local produce. The owner is a character who we got to know a little and speaks "restaurant English" (his term) and fluent Italian as well. On our second visit... More

I had dinner here on a trip to Troys. We had no reservation and just tried as it was right beside our hotel. (Hotel Clarison Relais st jean ). The owner welcomed us and showed us to our table. He is one of those great restaurant characters that add warmth and a welcome feeling to a restaurant. The dinner we... More
