Courtyard eating in style

This lovely restaurant in the old town of Troyes was a revelation.....after looking around the ancient streets for some while we 'phoned a friend' back in Hampshire who has visited Troyes, someone with a black book of special eating places....as usual we were not disappointed. Superb!

We took the 41€ menu. I started with the ballotine de canard with abricot which was an excellent mix of meaty, fruity and spicy flavours. Then the andouillette (we were in Troyes after all) which was superbly cooked with a delicious chaource (a local cheese) based sauce. Creme brulée for dessert which was also very nice. My dining companion had... More

This top, quality restaurant is run by its Chef Patron and is a lovely venue for that special occasion. The outside courtyard dining area was very busy and popular . Inside the tables are large and well spaced with a highly competent and attentive staff. Food is very good and of good value considering the quality with both meat and fish... More

This restaurant looks very cute from the outside and it was very pleasant to sit in the garden. All tables were full and they turned people away, so make a reservation. We had high hopes for this restaurant, but starting with the amuse bouche, it went down hill. With our glass of champagne, we got a small glass of half... More

This is a rare case of an expensive restaurant that offers a very inexpensive, amazingly good value formule every night (including Saturday). We both had the €19 formule and absolutely cannot figure out how they can afford to give such extraordinarily high quality food and drink for so little. Two amuse bouches (puff pastry canapés, followed by a shot glass... More

We have visited Troyes many times and tried out quite a few of the restaurants which we have always found to be good, but this was without doubt the best meal we have ever had. It is not a cheap place but the food was fabulous and made a memorable start to our summer as we drove down through France.... More

Lovely courtyard setting on a warm summer evening. Slightly disappointed by the service as we were really looking forward to our aperitif glasses of champagne - particularly as it was our first night in the champagne region - unfortunately they never arrived and by the time our starters were delivered the moment had passed. The food was good but prices... More

Of course, it is a little more expensive than the average, BUT ... this is absolute top quality ... food and wines are excellent ... and the service is nice. Don't miss it when you around

Had lunch here with my wife and 2-year-old. I had been once before with a large conference group and liked it well enough to come back. The lunch was really good food. I had veal. It was a tough cut but the sauce was excellent. My 2-year-old has many food allergies so rather than risk faster (often pre-prepared) food, we... More

We spent a lovely evening at Mignardise. The service, the food , were delicious and very reasonably priced. Lovely location at the very end of a very narrow medieval street. Highly recommended.
