We had the lunchtime menu it was excellent. Great service in a lovely atmosphere. We were made to feel very welcome and the only English in the restaurant. It was full it seemed of local people who were used to a certain expectation, A nice way to celebrate a birthday and our last meal in France. .

The choice of restaurants in Troyes for dinner on Easter Sunday was limited so we decided to give this place a try and were pleasantly surprised. The staff were welcoming, the ambiance relaxed and the food very good. Yes, it's popular with tourists but also with locals which is usually a good sign.

We had an excellent lunch (suckling pig with dauphinois potatoes), service was so-so, but definitely worth a four on the tripadvisor rating scale. Based on our delicious lunch, we decided to go back for dinner the following day. Unfortunately, our dinner was terrible ( steak was so tough that it was impossible to cut), service was non-existent, and therefore we... More

Far from the best eating experience in Troyes. Perhaps because we were English tourists, they thought they could get away with duck which was overcooked, reheated or left under the lamp for too long. At least upon being invited to make comments, we were not charged for it.

The hotel recommended this place and the food was fantastic. I had scallops in beurre blanc then millefeuille with strawberries. My husband had steak with fries then espresso with 3 mini desserts and our friends had some kind of white fish (not sure what it is in English) with vegetables, then apple pie. The food was exquisite and the service... More

My wife & i went along for an early evening light dinner, on the recommendation of a friend. I had veal kidneys with mashed potato, which I quite enjoyed, though it was about average for a normal UK gastropub. My wife had a fish dish and asked for lemon, getting, towards the end of the meal, a small bowl of... More

We had a fine multi-course meal here at midday. Our pre-trip research mentioned sea food specialties, a fine selection of house-made terrines and mousse au chocolat dessert. Pricing was moderate. Decoration is in a 'brasserie style' but with tablecloths and cloth napery. Decorations include period mirrors and tin polychrome advertising signs. Floors are tiled with marble. A modern version of... More

We had a fabulous meal here, much better than we expected, given that it was recommended by our friendly but none too upmarket hotel. As another reviewer has remarked, you've got to love a place which, when you order pâté, puts the whole enormous terrine on the table along with a basket of bread and a jar of gherkins zand... More

It is a good sign when the Pate campagne (only 7.60 euros) arrives in its terrine, with a jar of gherkins, and you help yourself - and it was perfect and I would have had more, but with boudin noir coming as my main course I resisted. The boudin noir was superb as well extremely rich, served with mashed potatoes,... More
