Good find in the city square

We usually avoid restaurants in main squares but thought we would try our luck on our first night in Reims. We were pleasantly surprised in the quality, size, price and service. So impressed infact that we went back another two times. Service and atmosphere inside is very nice indeed. All three... read more

We often travel to the South of France from Yorkshire, so Reims is an ideal overnight stop on the return journey. Having battled through the traffic on the Route du Soleil we were ready for a relaxing evening. Le Cafe de Reims is situated on the central boulevard with a good number of street cafes and brasseries, a short walk... More

Lunch here and we had the Plate du Jour euro 12.50, a nice entree pasta with chorizo, then the a main of tender pork ribs and great fries. The kids had the euro 7.50 deal which was a choice with the fries of either steak burgers or freshly sliced jamon (ham) which were popular. Great location in the Main Street... More

A friendly place with good local food.Friendly staff who spoke a little English, far more than our schoolboy French.

We walked around for quite a while trying to find somewhere a bit different but authentic and good value. We knew we'd found the place when we came to the Cafe de Reims. Steak frites was the plat du jour and there was a good range of options on the set menus which were good value. The waitress was really... More

I am an ITALIAN exchange student in reims and as an Italian I am kind of expert about cooking! Food is really good and as for the price I think it is honest! The part I TRULY love is the service! The female waitress is maybe one of the few person speaking English in the city and she is friendly... More

We last went to the Grand Cafe 15 years ago- and we were delighted to see that it hasn't changed! The food is sublime- go for the Moules Champenoise and your taste buds will be blown away! This is French food at its very best- fresh ingredients and a great combination of flavours cooked to perfection. The service is fantastic-... More

This restaurant was very nice but had a tiny bit of American MTV too loud. A lot of restaurants all over France seem to so this in the cities. This was the only place in two weeks that the waiter seemed like he could care less about anything. That shouldn't take away from the food there but he did take... More

Salad appeared to have been prepared hours before being served, it arrived at my table minutes after ordering. Salmon arrived dry and over cooked. Service was non-attentive and un-interested. The only time I met the host was when he came to confirm my room number in the hotel. He never asked about the meal or service.

The menu had English translations, but not quite enough for a gluten intolerant customer! I ordered the fillet mignon du porc with some sort of sauce from under the 'plate' menu and it came as a pasta dish. It was absolutely delicious but I shouldn't have eaten it. There was no reference to it being a pasta dish on the... More
