Pleasant Lunchtime in the sun

I had a lovely lunch here whilst visiting Reims for the day. The restaurant is on the main street from the station to the cathedral and has seating outside as well as inside. We seldom eat at restaurants attached to hotels because, with a captive audience, the risk of disappointment can be great. The Cafe de la Paix actually feels separate to the hotel and, eating on the 'terrace' gives it that holiday feeling all over. The ambiance is slightly odd, as the pedestrian walkway runs between the tables and the restaurant, but... More

We like to take here lunch or dinner. Food, especially seafood, is nice but the service is often very stressed and the wine list could be improved. I rate the hotel better than the restaurant.

Probably the worst meal and service I have ever had in France. This place is in need of serious and urgent management attention. The staff are surly and unhelpful - rushing from place to place but seeming to achieve not a lot. We waited ages for drinks, then another very long wait for the food which when it arrived was... At 15E/person, this was super reasonable. Typical proteins for a breakfast bar (eggs, sausage, 'bacon/ham', selection of cheeses, lunch meat), PLUS crepes! Not amazing crepes, but real crepes!

Myself and my friend visited as she was staying in the hotel. She ordered steak and I the chicken. Staff were very unfriendly in seating us and we felt an Inconvince even tho there were tables free. Our food arrived my friends steak was very bland and tasteless, my chicken arrived raw! which I returned and decided I wanted to... More

My wife and I were staying at the hotel and checked out the restaurant before booking a table in the garden area. The 3 course fixed price menu proved a great choice accompanied by a good bottle of Sancerre. Staff were attentive and food very good - all for €90 for two.

We visited this restaurant next to our hotel and although not booked we were shown to a lovely garden area at the back of the restaurant .we had fish on the bone sea bass but it was easy to fillet different veg accompaniment but not to everyone's taste .The meat mix grill was not as good as the fish meal... Contemporary decor with lots of seafood from its own fish bar (reminds me of some of the best Parisienne Brasseries). Foies Gras to start, excellent grilled Lobster for me and my wife and daughter both had juicy Dover Soles. Sticky deserts for them and cheese plate for me. Bottle of St. Veran to accompany. Not the cheapest meal but we... More
