Great French kitchen

A small restaurant with just a handful of tables on the ground floor (there is a second floor, never went there, can not say anything about it). My wife and I were greated by the manager on arrival, were served a starter of foie gras with a ratafia sauce and a glass of champagne. She then had the... read more

After missing out on our last visit in April, we booked well in advance, so glad we did. They were so friendly, atmosphere good, food was fantastic with a great range of wines.. We chose a 1/2 bottle of Sancerre to go with our starters. I had the scallops and my husband had grilled ducks liver with foie gras followed... More

I wanted a real authentic French experience for my 40th birthday , and it couldn't have been better! From the welcome to the incredible food and warm friendly atmosphere, this is one of my absolute favourite restaurants ....oh and the veal kidneys were to die for!

I was tasked with organising a top end meal for a party of 7 and I was understandably nervous as we are all foodies. Don't be fooled by the neon flashing sign out side, the food and wine we were served was superb! This really is a genuine French old-fashioned restaurant where the food and drink is priority, not the... More

Had a really high-quality dinner here, with some of us ordering a la carte, and some from the set. Both were excellent. High quality, fresh, ingredients, and tasty, original takes on the French culinary canon. The proprietor was a character - we appreciated his friendly manner and that he even came over to do the steak tartare himself.

We had lunch at this place, and I have to say everything on the menu was good. The wait staff was friendly, and they did not rush us which is always nice to enjoy where you are.

The restaurant itself is unprepossessing and not in the centre of town. However the food was stupendous. I have travelled widely in France and only once had better food and that was in a Michelin starred restaurant. The marmite of mushrooms, sweetbread and white pudding was an absolute revelation. It was rich and unctuous. The desserts were marvellous. Too often... More

Our hotel booked this for us, so we had no idea what to expect. Our meal was just brilliant. That mix of French country style, with fresh and top quality ingredients. Our wine was just perfect for the meat dishes. There were lots of French families there as well, which makes it a more authentic eating experience.
